Wake Tech Spring 2017 Start

I am so paranoid about that drug test after hearing her talk! I was going to take mine today but I had a few drinks Friday night. I read some test detect it 48 hours later! So i'm taking mine Wednesday now... just to be safe lol. I did not know that about ibuprofen. Good to know! My friend was making fun of me for being afraid to take a drug test when I don't do drugs. But she made it sound like almost anything could show up as something else! I'm afraid to even use mouth wash lol. This nursing program is already making go crazy and I'm not even in it yet!

I know! I keep thinking about everything I'm eating and drinking and wondering if it's going to show up as something crazy! I can't imagine how someone who actual does some kind of drug feels right now haha. I only googled about the ibuprofen because she has me so paranoid and I took two today so I'm a little worried about taking the test and that showing up!

Hi ladies! What exactly is the med calc homework? I've heard nursing students talk about med calc assignments and I am curious. I also heard that students have a med calc test every Friday? Is med calc a lecture that nursing students will eventually take, or is it something you learn as you go through the program?

No you start right after orientation. You have a review class one day over the summer, but it's basically self taught. They give you problems to do and you bring them to that review class. It seems pretty easy so far. You have a test the first day of class and you have to get a 90% or better.

I emailed Mrs. Watkins again because she made it sound like there was the possibility of more seats becoming available in addition to the seats opening from those declining their seats. She said that was possible and as the Nursing Dept. decided to open more seats she would fill them. She also said being where I was, I am in a good position since there are still months before the fall. I promised her I wouldn't email her for a while lol so I guess I will just wait until I hear something after May.

AP, That is awesome! Thanks for sharing that. I hope they open more seats! Lol I am going to try not email her until May. But as soon as I see grades are posted I'll probably give in and ask if I've moved up any. It is so hard not to email her for a day to day update lol!

It is! I wish they had a site where we could see if we've moved any at all. They could use student numbers for privacy and then update it..it would eliminate a lot of their emails!

I've thought about the same thing AP as far as numbers and a list to prevent so many emails. They truly make it harder on themselves.

CN_2bRN919 how hard are the Cna exams. My first one is tomorrow. I'm studying the make up worksheets. Anything else I should be studying besides the notes?

Hi gotgifts3! The exams are not that bad. I reviewed by doing the review sheets (homework sheets). The tests are detailed so for the first test know your laws, what a CNA can and cannot do, etc. The class exams are tricker than the actual NACES from what I've heard.

The class test aren't too bad. They are definitely harder than the actual state test. Which is good because you'll be prepared. The thing with health care test is they are usually pick the "best" anwser which makes it a little tricky.

CN_2bRN919, EmilyNicole91 I did all the homework sheets. I think what will mess me up is when there are multiple correct answers and you have to pick all the right ones. My test is tonight. I can't look at those sheets anymore. Thanks for all the help!!
