Wake Tech Fall 2020

I was hoping to get more information at orientation on the uniform as I did some poking around on amazon and there are a few pant styles for Cherokee brand in the Royal Blue and I wanted to make sure I’m buying the right style. I think the scrub tops will have to be ordered thru the bookstore as they have to be the monogrammed ones but I couldn’t find the required scrub top on the Wake Tech bookstore website to try and order it. I didn’t want to bother the staff before orientation but I’m thinking I might have to send an email. If anyone has already emailed them, let me know as I don’t want to annoy the staff LOL.

I emailed about this, and we can get any pants style as long as it is NOT flair legs. I have some in the color and brand but not the style, so emailed about it, and that’s what I was told.

I mean do you definitely know what size you are? I know the uniforms take a bit to come in once you order them. So if you definitely know the size then I’m sure it couldn’t hurt to order early. But unless they have posted that we need to on the gateway site then you can wait until after orientation.

I was just winding with everything if the bookstore is even open currently to order our uniforms? I would definitely go ahead and order if they are open, but not sure if they had actually opened back up yet.

I am not sure if the bookstore is open yet but I know their website had grey scrubs and definitely did not have the ones we are required to purchase. I guess we need to call.

Yeah they never seem to have the nursing stuff like that online. Seems like you have to go to the bookstore.

Is there anyone completing their pre-requisites that would like to form an online study group? I will be taking ENG 111 and PSY 150 Starting June 2nd. In the Fall I will be completing ENG 112, HUM 115, SOC 210 and BIO 168 and possibly PSY 241 depending on if I get off of the waitlist.

Per her email when I asked regarding uniform and lab skill set:

You will not need either right away. The bookstore will be back up and fully stocked by early August and you will have plenty of time to get what you need. If there ends up being a problem you can wear your Nursing Assistant scrubs the first week or two of clinical. AJS

With that said, basing from her response, I'm assuming that uniforms are not "strictly" enforced until a certain period of time, as long as we're following the guidelines. They're giving us a grace period with our limited knowledge and resources (not our fault). My course of action was ordering a pair of royal blue scrub top and pants from Jaanu, and I'll ask the bookstore to have my top to put the emblem on. If that choice is not available then I'll order the top from them.

I tried to order scrub tops at the bookstore , and they were so weird! First they said OK no problem, than took my credit card info over email, than they told me since I’m starting in fall ( which I told them from the get go, that I’m not in a rush, but if they have them in stock I would like to buy them, and they said OK), they will not take my order until early august. It was so much confusion and misunderstanding. I’ll just wait until after the orientation

The bookstore and advisor told me that pants must be Cherokee , and scrub top must be bought from the bookstore, I asked them if they sell just emblems that we can attach to the top and did not get a clear answer on that, they just repeated that I will have to go with the bookstore for tops

I got an email yesterday welcoming into the fall 2020 nursing cohort! I was an alternate and I'm so relieved to have solid plans now. Anyone else get a letter?

I also got an email. Welcoming Into the fall 2020 cohort! I am so happy there were able to accommodate a few more students!
