Waiting On New Grad Program. What Now?

I graduated December 2015 with honors. Passed NCLEX a month later. Now its January and I have to wait until March to even apply to a New Grad RN program with an estimated start date in July. Ive taken ACLS. I'm volunteering at the hospital I currently work at as a PCT. But honestly, I went to school and did my part. Is there any employment out there for the new grad RNs in limbo? I just don't want to lose my skills I worked so hard to obtain and getting paid would be nice also.

Just because you earn a BSN doesn't mean the world owes you a job. The hunger you had in school needs to continue. Why do you have to stay in the same area? Have you looked at moving? The more flexible you are the more opportunities you will have. I moved to Wyoming after graduating 10 years ago. Worked 2 years then moved back home with 2 years experience and I was good to go. You don't have to limit yourself to "new grad programs". These formal programs are too expensive for many smaller facilities that may also be hiring new grads. If an organization hires new grads, it is very likely that they are also prepared to offer you all the support you will need to begin your career.

Wishing you the best of luck & hoping your career launch goes very well for you.
