Wait listed for Accelerated BSN programs

Hi, I was recently placed on the Alternates list for SUNY Downstate's Accelerated BS in Nursing program for the Summer 2017. I'm wondering if anyone has any insight into the chances of getting in, or any tips on how to increase my chances?

    If someone who has been accepted decides not to attend after all, the school will offer a slot to the first person on the Alternate list. The Alternates will be listed in order of preference. Unless you have some method of "eliminating" the people that have already been accepted, there's nothing you can do to increase your chances. I seem to recall a funny movie about this a few years back - LOL.
