I am currently waiting with almost two weeks since my first interview. I am in no rush as I have a job I love and I am only looking forward to a switch in specialty and advancing my career but this wait is starting to get agonizing. I contacted HR and was told I will know in a few days but I feel like with it taking this long that my chances are pretty low...
How long have you waited after an interview to receive an offer?

Yes, for my last job, 3 weeks from initial interview to official offer.
Well that gives me hope... Still waiting. 😔
Well received a call today. They said I am their number one choice but they have to figure out budgeting for the new building I would be a part of before they hire me. They said in a week or two they should know about the budget. They said I interviewed well and they definitely want me to work for the hospital so when the next position opens up to be proactive and apply to other units. I really hope I just hear in a week that the budget allows for me and I also hope this isn't HRs way of telling me no thanks.
Hmmmm...I would say at this point keep your options open and interview elsewhere if offered the opportunity but dont let on that you are looking outside. This could be their way of "testing" your dedication and desire to work there. Definitely continue to express interest and follow up weekly with an email.

It sounds like they are interested, but things can still change
Until you have the actual offer in hand, continue your search.
Thank you for the replies! Yes, definitely applying elsewhere if I see positions I really want. And I will be calling weekly to find out if there's any budget changes.
I am so bummed because this is literally my dream specialty and I absolutely loved the unit from my shadow. I just keep praying that it will work out and they will take me on board...
Until then I keep looking!
