Hello! I am new here! I am living in Italy - sorry for my English!
I am looking for researches or evidence-based medicine articles about management of viper bites (or poisonous snake bites). Can anybody help me?
Thanks a lot!

Hi there,
Do you have access to PubMed? http://www.pubmed.gov
I got some hits on google by searching for "journal of toxicology + snake bites." Also try researching the antivenin called CroFab.
I don't know if you have a national poison association where you are, but the link to the US one is http://www.aapcc.org
I hope some of that helps, good luck!

hi to everybody!
i found some articles on medscape! the real question was, if there is any research about the evidence of immobilisation of the bitten limb. answer: no, there isn't.
bye,
Glad you found some articles. :)
This is not a journal, obviously, but what we do is support/elevate the affected extremity on pillows, at about the level of the heart. So, loosely immobilized, but no splints. Remove any jewelry and clothing in case of swelling. Measure the circumference of the extremity, mark any swelling or bruising. Measure the opposing extremity for your "control." Closely monitor for swelling and/or bruising, continuing to mark the area to track the progression. We usually give CroFab for any swelling.
