VCU's accelerated program 2015

I hope we start hearing back next week, I am on pins and needles! I just met a girl in my building this week that is in the traditional program. She said it was really hard but she loved it!

Yeah last year they found out on the 25th and the year before on the 22nd so hopefully it should be any day now!

Excellent! BTW, scottryana and bbcd, I will be turning 40 (ugh) this April. Good to see I have other ABSN potentials in my age range :) Hope we all get in!

Last year, the 25th was a Saturday...but it's 2:30 in the AM, I'm off to sleep and nothing is in my inbox so maybe nothing until Monday.

Everyone check your emails! I am wait listed ranked #3 but still so excited to be considered! I am hoping for the best as it looks like from last year's nursing cohort at least 4 people on the wait list got in!

Yes I was also wait listed a surprising and disappointing #21. Really unsure if I should put any stock in that number as being able to attend school this spring. Very unsure what could have ranked me so low.

All A's but 1 B in the micro-preqs

ACT - 26

Only a 3.26 undergrad GPA - could be the issue but was hoping since that was 10 years ago and the 11 recent classes I took were 9 A's and 2 B's they would take that into consideration.

scottryana, you have an amazing background! I am also surprised. I posted a question on the VCU ABSN 2014 forum to see how many of the wait listed people actually got in. Hopefully will hear back soon.

I emailed the school back and asked for any wait list info or statistics they might have for recent years of they email me back I will post it.

I got an acceptance email! I'm so excited (and a tiny bit nervous) for this huge change/step in my life/career! To those wait listed....keeping my fingers crossed for you! VCU!!!!

Hey all :) I'm in the accelerated cohort above you and wanted to say congrats as you all receive your emails! If you were wait listed, don't give up - try and stay positive :)

I was wait listed last year, #4, and was pulled off in the first batch of people which happened about two weeks after the initial email was sent. I believe about 10 people were pulled, but I'm not positive on that. I also don't think that VCU SON can give you statistics about wait list odds because it is different every year.

If anyone has more questions about anything (acceptance, living, preparation, student life, etc), please continue to post here. I'll be checking back! I'm so happy for you all!!!!
