If I do LPN in USA and move to canada what are the chances of getting job over there?.Do US LPNs have equal opportunities in CANADA?

I'm going to transfer this to the Canada forum. They are probably a better resource than General (US) Nursing.

First off, are you a Canadian or married to one? Otherwise you would have a hard time getting into the country to work. We do have LPNs in most provinces that are equivalent to US LPNs. However, if you want to go to Ontario you would probably have a problem because RPNs there have a longer program. I'll see if I can google you a link.

Has links for LPN registration in all Canadian provinces.

IMO, LPNs still have a lot of opportunities for work in Canada, but it is more limited than in the US. I have found that they are used less in specialty areas, more in general med/surg and LTC, compared to the US.

i have a question (first time poster here :p ) and this thread seems related.

I'm the opposite of dolly I want to get my LPN here in BC, and then go down to the states, and was wondering if it's transferable. I'm a born and raised Texan, who fell for a Candian. We are living in Vancouver right now, and my paperwork is FINALLY done so I am now planning to finish my schooling.

My thought was to get my LPN here and then hopefully go back to Texas, and then finish my RN degree there. Is this possible??? Should I make my own thread??? Should this be in the US section??

Any help/suggestions would be MUCH appreciated!!!!!
