VA RN NEW GRAD PROGRAM PALO ALTO LIVERMORE MENLO PARK 2020

Anyone apply to the VA RN NEW GRAD PROGRAM for PALO ALTO, LIVERMORE, or MENLO PARK and heard anything back yet?

I just received an email that I was selected to move forward in the process and that my application has been sent to the hiring manager.

Hi! I applied and was referred to the hiring managers for all 3 locations. Hopefully we hear something soon!! All fingers crossed.

Hello @MurseJojo,

I only selected 1 location because I thought all of the locations held new grad programs for every department at each location, but I guess only certain locations only have certain departments available at their locations.

Ohhh interesting. Maybe you are right. I think Livermore only have Community Health while other 2 locations have a various departments, but I might be wrong. I’m not most familiar with the VA system.

I was just told today that livermore only has extended care services for their new grads (long-term, and hospice), and palo alto does the acute care, not sure what others in palo alto, and not sure about menlo park. I applied for acute care and surgical. Would have been open to others but only lets you select 2.

Ohhh. That’s good to know. Thanks for sharing this info with me. Truly appreciate it. I chose rehab as my first choice and acute care as my second choice. I will post here if I hear anything. Good luck to us!!

@MojoJojo

this is an email I received:

The hiring manager will be reviewing resumes and calling individuals for interviews between 7/13/2020-8/17/2020. Please be patient this process is lengthy since they are reviewing over 500 applicant resumes. If you do not receive a call for interview by 8/17/2020, you most likely have not been selected. Anyone who is not selected and continues to meet the education requirements may apply to the next cohort.

I just got a call today to schedule my phone interview next week. Does anyone here know what typical questions they will ask?

Hello, they didn’t specifically a unit but they told me Palo Alto. I applied Rehab services and acute care.
