VA hosptial

I am a new grad wondering how much the VA nurses start out at. How hard is it to get a job at the VA? What is the starting pay? Any nurses currently working there, how do you like it? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

My friend works at the VA and the pay is a little less than the average in this area (southern Ohio). It was easy for her to get her job. She said that what the job lacks in pay it makes up for in benefits. She loves her patients and her job.

I currently work for the VA (VISN3) and it depends on your years of experience and educational backgrounds. The Federal government works on a Step and Grade system. Check out this website: 2007 Salary Tables and Related Information
