Hey guys! Tried to start a thread for the UVA Fall 2021 cohort but it didn’t pick up any traction so I thought I’d try once more. I applied to the Acute care gerontology DNP program and just received an invite for an interview today. Anyone else?

I applied to the AGACNP masters program and have an interview coming up in a week. I’m super nervous. Have you ever heard of anyone not being rejected after the interview process

I also applied to the UVA AGACNP program and am interviewing on February 9. Thanks for starting a thread it was hard to find information. You will do great in your interview and fingers crossed with both get in!

Oh my goodness ditto! I’ve been practicing practicing like crazy and am really just hoping this is more of an administrative loose end than anything ?? I actually haven’t heard anything about the interview process at all. Oddly enough the people who seem to apply and/or attend this program don’t participate in these sorts of forums ?‍♀️ I wish you the best of luck on your interview. Keep us updated of your progress!

Oh it’s my pleasure! I just wish there was more input. You know what they say, misery loves company LOL thanks so much and good luck to you as well ?

 

ps am I the only one that thinks it’s weird that the interviews are only 20minutes long? Like will we even have time to say everything we need?! ?

Yes! What are your thoughts on the 20 minutes interview? I asked around and people say that's a short amount of time.

So I thought it was initially pretty strange because what could you possibly cover in that short amount of time right? But it worked out. I think mine ended up lasting about 30-40 minutes and we covered a lot. We talked about why I wanted to the an NP, what in my life has prepared me for this, how I expect to make an impact on the field, etc. A lot less stressful I felt than most job interviews I’ve been on!

Hope everyone had a good interview. From what I can read we will find out the first week of March or so? Waiting is hard!

Did you guys apply to the MSN or DNP program? I've had two friends in previous years get off of the waitlist, so stay patient. Keeping everything crossed!
