i graduated from the university of texas medical branch at galveston, school of nursing, rn-bsn online program 13 aug 2004 with 3.766 gpa.
i was accepted to utmb back in 2002 w/3.38 gpa. my adn [08 may 98] was from austin community college in austin. besides an aas in nursing, i have an aas in surgical technology, from acc, too [18 aug 95].
*before healthcare career;
i graduated high school in 1979, then a year later enlisted in the usmc [1980-1988], and was an aircraft electrician & com nav tech on f-4 phantoms. i worked as a civilian aircraft electrician for three years, then at 32 yrs old began college.

i'm currentlys stationed in the us coast guard as a corpsman, and plan to apply to utmb son before i retire, i recieved my bachelor's degree back in august and currently working on my pre-reqs.
by the way i did 4 years in teh navy before i joined the coast guard.

LOL, this is an open forum :)
I did not live in, or near Galveston while in the program. I lived in Buda, TX, which was about 3.5 hr drive one-way to the campus. I visited the UTMB Galveston campus about only 2-3 x's/semester during my 2yrs in the RN-BSN web-based online program.
I did enjoy my visits to Galveston. However, the online program was very tough, and I'm very proud of my 3.766 GPA. I learned alot about using my PC, too, while in the program.
BTW, thanks... very proud to serve.

BTW, I think 3.766 GPA is something to be proud of regardless of location. :)

I was looking @ UTMB's website yesterday re. their graduate studies and noticed the hospital had received magnet recognition status...:)
