Starting a thread for people applying to University of Tennessee Knoxville ABSN 2022 start! I am graduating from UTK in December!

I am applying! Is UTK your first choice for ABSN programs?

Not really haha it's so expensive. I'm looking to go to a school in-state where I'm from because it's so much cheaper. But since I am graduating from UTK I figure I just apply in case I don't get in other places !! HBU

It is my first choice! I graduated last May from UT, and I live in state, so although it is still expensive, it is high on my list of potential options. How are you feeling about the application process?

Gotcha!! If I got instate tuition it would def be higher on my list! It’s fine, easier than a lot of other schools honestly, hbu! I do wish they required more so they could get to know me as a person. Are you applying anywhere else?

I am applying to a few other schools in the state as well. All public schools. The application process definitely is not too bad. I hope that the information we submit is enough for them to get a sense of who we are as applicants.

I applied and really want to go to this program!! I'm out of state, so this would not be my first pick, unfortunately (insanely expensive for out of state). But if I can finesse some scholarships, I would be over the moon! :)

Hi I’m a current UTK ABSN student. If you have questions about the program feel free to reach out. I also can offer suggestions on areas to live. When I moved down here it was last minute decision making and got lucky.

Hello! When did you hear you got accepted? I’m so anxious for the decision and can’t wait! How do you like the program? It’s seems like it would be so fast paced at 12 months. Do you have any recommendations for apartments to live in? I need a 1B/1B. Thank you in advance!

I actually got my acceptance letter on January 22nd last year! So I’m assuming they will be sending decisions this week! the program is good! Lots of great professors! It is very fast paced, but you learn so much! With the breaks we’ve gotten it’s actually less than 12 months! I would definitely try and stay in knox just for time purposes in traveling. I have friends at one river walk, the landing, marble city, and I live at 303 flats.

Okay awesome!! Thanks for the details. I am considering 303 Flats and the Landing just because of how close they are to campus. Do you like 303? Did you have to sublease for the May-August portion since a lot of the apartments don’t start their lease term until August? Just trying to get all my ducks in a row *if* I’m accepted. Thank you!

The location is great here at 303 and there is the option for garage parking. The apartment itself is nice and a lot space. There is times when the hallways smell of weed.  We haven’t had any issues with noise. The only complaint I have about it is when we first moved in it was very unorganized I believe it was because we were moving in during an unusual time and they had just switched management. I live with 3 other girls in the program, we got lucky and they had an empty apartment for the Summer.
