UTHSC SON Accepted into accelerated

when is tuition due? aren't we supposed to be getting another packet in the mail regarding registration in a week or so?

Yeah-I hope so. I filled out a fafsa and sent in scholarship info. but if tuition is due super soon i would not know where that is coming from :)

It was a strange email that they sent me through my regular gmail account. But-it did make me a little nervous because we really do have quite a short time to do things!

are you just relying on a pc computer or do you have a laptop and if so , out of curiosity, what kind? I have a pc right now and I'm planning on buying a laptop I just dont know what kind, I wanted an apple but then I read theyre not compatible on campus =(

I am planning on using my laptop-It is just a Dell that I have had for a little of four years now.

I also filled out the scholarship application and submitted it and got a "Thank You" email from Mrs. Richardson almost immediately after, so hopefully they will start processing it soon! On the SON homepage, it says they got $1.2million for the next four years for just accelerated program so hopefully they will be giving that out.

They just received my letter of intent today so I'm guessing after they processes it, I should get the email that talks about registration and tuition and stuff and the packet should come in the mail soon.

did you apply for financial aid/grants as well? ugh I feel so rushed because we don't have a lot of time.. I am in the process of doing my budget so I know what to ask for in terms of scholarship money. I need to call and verify that they got my letter of intent as well..thanks for reminding me!

oh yeah and I have another question! did you do like an itemized list showing them what you think you're expenses will be for the year or did you just round it off to a number and show it as the number? I wasn't sure if they just wanted us to write the number we approximate it will be in those boxes for expenses that say tuition, living expenses, medical expenses etc ..or if we should list it out

Yeah I filled out FAFSA and need to apply for loans. Everything is coming very quickly! On the scholarship info, I just estimated the living costs/medical costs/etc. In the one page statement, I kind of explained them but nothing itemized or even singled out, just rough estimates.

yes-I will def. buy a laptop. An apple would have been nice but they really do stress that you cannot have one-good thing I don't already own one! It is a lot to do at once but I just remember that they have been doing it this way for awhile so everything probably works out by the time we actually start class! I did rough estimates for living expenses and lumped it all together on one line as indicated. I can't wait for orientation as I feel it will help explain things!

im just full of questions! Are you ordering the scrub package thing that came on the pink piece of paper? I don't know what size I am so I guess we'd need to try em on before we order them...I wonder if the bookstore is open at all on the weekend, I'm already missing so much time off work for dr. appt.s..drug test..i feel bad..

yeah-i am going to wait on the whole package as i don't know what size i am either. also, it may be cheaper to order some pieces elsewhere! there is so much stuff to do! i want to take time off now! are you going to continue to work while in school?

nope, thatd be impossible although the money would have been nice im going to miss shopping =(. I'm ending my job on May 12th so I can have a little over a week to relax and take care of any last minute things.. all I have left to do is cpr, I took my drug test and got my immunizations done yesterday. what about you?
