UT Houston Summer 2010 Accelerated Program

Hello All,

I am currently in the process of trying to get into the UT Houston Summer 2010 Accelerated program. I am not sure if there is a thread already started. But if there is not one I would like to start one. Hopefully we can use this thread and keep up with one another. Who else is hoping to get into UT Houston's Summer 2010 Accelerated program?

JSanz8,

Did you retake the entire test? Or just the reading section? I wonder if I met/talked to you at all.

Kstar,

Thank you for ur stats. You calmed me down a little. I have a BA in Sociology from UNT, GPA 3.56, LPN for 8 years but I still need to take the NET and my anxiety is getting the best of me... Best wishes to you!!!

We weren't permitted to just take the Reading portion. We had to take the entire test all over again. We may have chatted but there were alot of people there...not sure.

KStar,

I heard that TT's Pathophyisology is kinda ruff, I will be taking it this spring at a C.C. here in Dallas.

Dude! You're an LPN? You have nothing to worry about. Having that experience is a lot better than that of a CNA, in my opinion anyway

You'll do fine on the NET. I was really nervous too, but my advice to you is to take the time to review, review, and REVIEW. Don't take any concepts that will be tested over for granted. That was my mistake, I thought that I had central theme, tone, etc. all down but when the test came, I was totally in for a surprise, especially with that fire alarm ringing in my ears!

Best wishes to you! :specs:

LOL, you heard right. That class is definitely no walk in the park. BUT, on the bright side, it is a great insight as to how the classes will be with TTUHSC's program, since it's a web-based program. The professors are EXTREMELY helpful and very receptive to answers and go over the rationale for answers missed for exams. They have also given us half/partial credit for the past 2 exams for questions we missed if we provided the rationale ourselves and turned them in.

You weren't allowed to take just the reading section? REALLY?!?!? I remember at the testing site, which was at HCC in downtown, they made the ones who were just taking the reading section sit near the front so they could leave right away and they administered the reading section first instead of the math.

Weird!

Maybe they made an exception for those that took it the following week but they scheduled me for 3 weeks out since my deadline wasn't pressing and therefore, I had to re-take the entire test.

Or maybe it was because I took it at the original location, not at HCC. Not sure but I can't complain. Except for Reading all my scores were very good the first time I took the test. The second time I took it, all my scores increased so I was even happier.

JSanz8,

Ohhh, okay. That makes sense. Well, I'm glad we both did better either way! Haha!

I'll hold a sign that says "JSans8" at UHV's interview! haha!

Hey KStar and Jsanz,

Thanks for all of the information ladies. I appreciate all of the support. I'm going to check out the link now... Best wishes

LOL. Maybe we can meet up for an early breakfast near the school. I'm not familiar with the area (I'm from Tomball) but I guess we can work something out.

If not, I'll look for your sign. :lol_hitti
