it says here that to be able to renew your us license you need to have ssn which applies for most 50 states.
then how do you guys able to renew?
i'm clueless. so, that means, applying for us licensure is not a good idea at all with retrogression and this depression they currently have in their country.
well, i guess nclex will all be useless for foreign people coz they're caught up with these visa issues.:stone

Please take the time to do some reading here. There are many states that no longer issue an actual license in the first place if there is no SSN#; so there would not be any license to renew.
For the ones that do issue without a SSN#, most of them will permit renewal without the SSN# if one has not been permitted to work here yet.
Much has been written on the specifics of different states here, each state is free to set their own requirements.

any vermont nurses who got their hard license in philippines??
Every single one of them has; you apply to VT and they will issue a license number to you. That is what is meant by a hard license.
VT renews all licenses every two years, so it is going to expire for all March, 2009. Even if one has only had their license for a couple of months, they are going to have to renew it in March and pay the fee or it will no longer be current.
They currently issue without a SSN# and renew as well. That does not mean that it will not change in the future. And this applies to all nurses for that state, not just those that are from the Philippines.

So THAT'S why so many foreign nurses get licensed in VT!
I'm next door to them.

Exactly, but suspect that VT will be tightening their requirements in line with many of the others.
