USAGPAN 2020

Hello all,

I've been cruising this forum for some time now and wanted to start up a USAGPAN 2020 application thread. Who else is applying for FY2020 or thinking about applying? Best of luck to everyone!!! I know the application with Baylor barely opened (Feb 1st) I'm pending my GRE and CCRN. I have 2.5 years ICU the last year being at a level one trauma center in Los Angeles. I Already passed MEPS (what a relief and different experience) and am now getting my LORs in order.

Cheers to all....lets make this happen!!!

Hi, Im a VA nurse applying to USAGPAN. Just completed my application to Baylor U. Anybody here that will also go through the VA? Does anybody knows how many seats are reserved for VA applicants? THanks!

I was told that there were only two slots this year for the VA. Another applicant from my VA was told that by Mrs. Johns apparently.

@ Bryan

When it comes to any CRNA program, they look at multiple things when considering applicants. I would say that you have definitely shown progress from your initial bachelor's degree to completing your BSN. That will weigh your favor. However from my experience so far in applying, the admission counselor and phase 2 site director did stress my science GPA and look to see how strong it was. I wouldn't say that you're screwed but I think I would try to retake some science courses if possible. Then again, your GPA now, experience, CCRN, and good GRE scores may outweigh the science GPA. Its really hard to say. I would not be discouraged, but just try to improve what you can and apply. As far VA applicants, in the past, the program had 4 slots available for VA applicants. They may have changed this year or change year to year. Hope this helps and good luck to you.

AACRNA,

Thanks for the advice, I was actually responding to another posters question. My science gpa was a 4.0 until I had to take the UNE online organic chemistry. That course dropped mine a bit. I am hoping that my GRE scores will outweigh that though. For now it is hurry up and wait....

Hurry up and wait for sure!!

I had MEPS this past week. That was the most awkward physical i have ever experienced lol. Who else is waiting??? Has anyone had their CV approved for rank?

MEPS can definitely be awkward. I worked at MEPS processing navy enlistees and officers into the navy way back when. Any other VA applicants on here?

Civilian here. Where are you from Bryan ?

I work at the VA in Temple, TX. Too old to go back to active duty! lol

Hello from Los Angeles! Although not a VA applicant myself historically I think its 4-X amount based on previous USAGPAN threads. Good luck! Have you finished your GRE?

I have heard that it was usually 4, but it was not funded last year, so maybe they are easing back in to that rate? I don't know. I agree though, if only two slots are available that makes our chances pretty slim! Good luck though!

Hi everyone! I just found this thread and I am so happy that we are all basically in the same boat!

I am applying as a direct commission. I had my interview at Ft Bragg. Now that all the busy work is done I've been struggling to keep my mind busy as we all wait for answers. I had my CV approved about a month ago. Now just waiting to hear back!

Good luck to everyone!
