Upmc Shadyside

Hi guys!

I would really like to know if anyone has had a good experience with upmc shadyside's nursing program. I'm really interested in going there, and would love all the info I could get on it.

I was also wondering if you have to have both a & p 1 & 2 done because they don't accept just the first one by itself? If not, and I have to take all the classes with the college their associated with, is there a shuttle or anything to get there or do the college professors come to the school to teach you? I'm a little confused about how that works lol.

Also if anyone could tell me what a typical week is like, I'd appreciate it! I would probably have to relocate, so I'm wondering what is the safest areas to look for an apartment at.

And lastly, how many people are in the classes usually? What about clinical time? Is most of the clinical done there, or do you have to go to the other hospitals? Is transportation provided for that or do you drive yourself?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there, I am hopefully going there this fall (fingers crossed). This post was from a while ago, so I don't know if you have already applied or are already in the program. I can't tell you about anything there, because I have not yet applied. As for the neighborhoods, I would maybe suggest Bloomfield or Millvale.
