update on job

Hi all.

Well, I had the interview for the mental health RN position (to refresh-day job; no nights/weekends/holidays).

I was offered the position a week later. I am soooo torn! They offered me their top pay (Approx. $4 less an hour than I make working med/surg evenings).

In the last post, I said how much I love my co-workers-that is what is making this decision so difficult. I also do love being home during the day...

Of course, Med/surg can be quite stressful, as well as hard on this gals body. (lifting, turning, running for 7 out of 8 hours on the shift).

I'm going to job shadow on Tuesday...hopefully this will give me a clearer picture of what this new position would be like.

Again-thanks for the friendly ear(s)....everyone around here is sick of me waffling back and forth!!!:uhoh3:

Congratulations! Your story reminds me of myself. I love my coworkers but the stress of acute care has gotten to me. I resigned myself to go to days and/or get a new job. I just opened my paycheck and the night dif for two weeks is $356, that's a lot to turn down, but I am at the point where I feel like I would pay somebody that much so that I could feel normal again.

I'm curious to see how Tuesday goes for you! Good luck!
