Could someone tell me what is meant by LVN 1 and LVN 2 ?

I have noticed this in a few employment advertisements.

Lots of hospitals have what they call a clinical ladder, where you can work up to a position like LVN II, RN II, etc. for more pay. Often these positions have preceptor or charge nurse responsibilities. I've even seen some places that go up to RN IV or V.

Those titles have education and experience criteria set by the individual hospitals, but you don't earn a license that says LVN II or RN II. As far as the board of nursing is concerned, you're either an RN or LVN.
