University of Calgary BNRT program

Published

Does anyone know if there's an essay required for application to the U of Calgary BNRT program? The other nursing schools I'm applying for all have an essay/resume/questions component to it. The nursing page didn't specify it and neither did the students center on the myUofC page.

Thanks in advance!

When I applied last year, there was no essay required. Send in your high school marks/post secondary and pray you have a high enough grade to get in.

However, not to dissuade your choice. I have heard that Mount Royal University offers the better nursing program in Calgary. I worked at a Doctors office and all of the staff have said nothing but good things about grads from MRU. The main difference is that UC is more theoretical while MRU is more practical. The grads there graduate with 1600 clinical hours.

Thank you so much.

So admission is based on average only? There's no interview either?:uhoh3:

No interview whatsoever! just competitive admission!

Thanks! But oh mine~ that's news to me. That really sounds competitive now... at least academically. I think I better apply for more schools as well.

Specializes in Cardiology.

The amount of theory we take at the U of C is rediculous, I would much rather have more clincial hours.

@OP I would definitely apply to several schools. Good luck!

you can totally do it! I took a whole bunch of gpa boosters like art to bring up my GPA to a 3.7! Last year, MRU accepted students high school students with high 80's and Post Grads with a GPA of 3.3 and above.
