Hi everyone. I'm currently finishing my last month of my senior year in high school. And I've had the hardest time figuring out what I really want to do with my life. I've ALWAYS wanted to be a nurse ever since I was 5. ( I know. Super cheesy typical nurse story) but I had the hardest time in science especially bio and chem. I know for a fact that I want to work in the medical field. I love kids. And I have the stomach for all the not so pleasant aspects of nursing and everything. But I also don't want to get into a nursing program and flunk out. What I want to know is if there's any nurses out there that did bad on high school science but made it through nursing school, how did you do it? And if maybe nursing wouldn't be the best job for me, what would be better? I've really been thinking about becoming a radiology tech if nursing really doesn't workout but i just don't know. Any advice would be awesome.

I've never had difficulty with biology, but chemistry makes me want to crawl into a vat of acid. There are plenty of nurses who didn't do well in high school and went on to do well in college, but typically, they had social issues in their youth that held them back. If you have the perfect home life and simply struggle with the material, that's a different sort of challenge.

You're very young and have plenty of time to figure it all out. Don't stress too much.

I agree with the previous poster. Don't get discouraged. I struggled a lot in high school but because I wasn't motivated. Once I got to college I did extremely well because I knew I was on my way to my dream career. Also, figuring out your learning style and how to study helps tremendously. Youtube has tons of videos on how to study and you can find a learning style quiz through a google search. Don't give up.
