UNC MSN Fall 2015

Has anyone received word on admission to UNC-Chapel Hill's MSN programs for Fall 2015? I understand notifications may not be made until May, but I would love to hear from anyone who has heard anything at all. This wait seems like it will never end. Thanks!

So I know this thread is a little old but those of you who got into the program what kind of experience did you have, how long, gpa, etc. If you don't mind sharing. I am applying for 2016 and have submitted my application. Waiting 6 months is killer!! Now that you are in the program how is it??

Hey CarolinaRN11,

Which program are you applying for? I am in the MSN PMHNP program currently. When I applied, I had over 3 years experience in inpatient psychiatric hospitals and worked with peds, adolescents, adults, and military patients. My cumulative GPA was a 3.5, but I think they look more at the well rounded picture. I had a lot of volunteer work as well. Your personal statement is also extremely important. As far as the program, it's going very well. I really have no complaints. We got our letters a month later than expected, so hang in there. Go luck!

Thanks for replying! I am applying to the FNP program. I wil have 1.5 years experience by matriculation, but I am applying to the RN-MSN portion of the program, work experience required is at least 1 year. Ive also been doing some volunteer work at a free clinic as well. My GPA is good and I've worked my butt off on my personal statement. This is my first time applying so Im trying not to get too excited! Thanks for your input!!! :)
