UNC-Chapel Hill BSN program???

Hey everyone!

I'm hopefully a NC transplant-to-be in the next year. My husband and I are wanting to relocate to the Raleigh-Durham area and I want to change careers to become a nurse. I will be starting to take some pre-req's here in the Chicago area in the fall.

My question is, does anyone know anything about the UNC-CH accelerated BSN program? It has piqued my interest because I'd like to go all the way with the BSN and I already have a bachelor's from another institution.

Is it a difficult program to get into? Obviously this school has a great reputation--I have pretty good grades from my undergrad, and am planning on getting A's in my pre-req's (I'm very motivated!!), so I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with applying or having been in the program.

Any help is appreciated!!

Thanks~

Steph

I don't know anything about the program, but welcome to North Carolina ... WONDERFUL State to live in.

I am applying to UNC-CH traditional BSN (24 month) program. I have heard great things about their accelerated program, but it is very challenging and has a competitive admissions process. They have tons of students knocking their doors down due to their great reputation.

I know someone who applied for the accelerated program and was denied, but they did offer him admission to their traditional 24 month program.

It is my first choice, but I am applying to other schools just becuase it is so competitive. Visit their website at: http://nursing.unc.edu.

Be sure to try to attend one of the upcoming open houses, if possible. Good luck and welcome to NC.
