UMB program textbooks

Hi, all,

I just got admitted to the UMB Shady Grove BSN program. I'd like to make good use of this summer and read some textbooks ahead of time. I usually buy textbooks online because it saves a lot. However, on the books lists, a lot of required texts are either 07 or 08 editions which I can't seem to get a great deal from buying them online. So, I am wondering if it is okay to buy older editions for this program.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

Many people in my class used the next oldest version of the texts and got by with them well enough. There are copies of the most recent texts kept in the SG library, so if there is anything you need that is not covered in the older texts you can go to the library and cross-reference.

One thing I would mention is that even if you buy older versions of the text, buy GOOD version and pay a little extra. Don't purchase books that are falling apart when you get them, because you will need some of these first semester books for the duration of your 2 years! Believe me, you will keep referencing back so make sure you get a good copy of whatever edition you get.

I think it's fine to use the older editions. I used my books alot, but most students used the powerpoints more than the textbooks. All textbooks are available in the library as well.
