Sep 13, 201312 yr Are there any other Spring 2014 hopefuls for the concurrent program??Good luck to everyone applying.
Sep 13, 201312 yr Hello ! I would be applying to the concurrent program, however, my TEAS score was two points away from 78%. So I'm applying to only the RN program. What is your GPA and TEAS score and last PreReq ?
Sep 16, 201312 yr Author Hi BOWESA!My stats aren't that great unfortunately so I'm a little worried. I got waitlisted for Fall 2013 but no spots opened up GPA 3.3, TEAS 83%, and i finished my last pre-reqs in Simmer 2011 but then they made me take the diet therapy class this summer so I'm afraid it may hurt me a bit
Sep 16, 201312 yr Is legal and within the scope of my RN license and massage license to do foot care ( nail and wound) on my private clients in the state of Florida? Should I be WOCN certified to do this ? I realize that I should probably not do manicures or trim nails on diabetic clients. Are there any WOCN accredited CEU programs in Florida?
Sep 16, 201312 yr You will totally get in this term then, rn-inprogress2013 ! Your GPA is not bad at all and your TEAS score is very well! Do you have a feeling of what date completion they will look at for the application ? I finished my PreReqs in Fall of 2012 and this is my first time applying to the program.
Sep 17, 201312 yr Author Hopefully!I am not sure about the dates they'll look at, but I am thinking maybe Fall 2012 and back, depends on the overall statistics of the group of us applying. I'm sure you'll be just fine. The next 4-6 weeks are gonna be painful to wait through.
Sep 26, 201312 yr Good luck guys! I am currently in the ucf basic program! Any of you apply to it? I will be more than happy to answer any questions! In my first semester :)
Sep 28, 201312 yr My teas score wasn't high enough! I will have to wait until march to apply. Good luck to everyone!
Sep 28, 201312 yr Hello jv713 ! I have SOO many questions for you so I'm sorry in advance. (: How are you liking the program so far? How much time a week do you put into studying? Is it possible to have a part-time job while in nursing school? What was your GPA and TEAS score before getting accepted into the program? If I don't get into SSC's nursing program this spring then I'm planning on retaking my TEAS and applying to both the concurrent and generic program. -Thank you ! (:
Sep 30, 201312 yr Glad I can be of help!! So far I am loving the nursing program! Our mid term exam for our one class is 2Weeks away, so this semester is already half way over! It's going super fast but I learning so much! Basically what I can tell from this first semester is that, it is ALOT of busy work. Organization is KEY. A planner will be your new best friend. We have assignments/quizzesEvery week. In some classes we only have 2-3 exams. If you canGet a head start and do assignments that are due not for another few weeks or so, DO them. So far I am doing well with organizing myself and I am able to stay very Much on top of things. Yes it is possible to work and be in the program. I work at a restaurant and I work 2 shifts a week (just one double on Saturday) and I am still able to stay ahead of schedule with assignments. As for studying, I do SOMETHING everyday. Even if it's just 1 assignment. I try to do moreThan 1 assignment a day though to keep ahead. I am still able to have time for myself too. I go to the gym 3/4 times a week, but ofcourse it varies depending on your workload for the week. And my scores were...TEAS 83.3Overall GPA 3.67 I thinkPRE req GPA 4.0 And then ofcourse you have your interview (which wasn't so bad!!)Ofcourse this is my input for the few weeks I have experienced so far... I hear 2nd semester is the hardest! Let me know if you have any other questions :)
Oct 1, 201312 yr Thank you SOO much ! I feel way less stressed now. I will definitely let you know if I have any other questions ! (:
