UCF Basic BSN Applicants Spring 2015 Cocoa/ Daytona Campus

Hello there!

I will be applying to UCF's Basic BSN program that starts in the spring of 2015 at the Cocoa and Daytona campuses. The application window is from July 15th to August 16th. Anyone else planning to apply? :)

Has anyone received another email from the CON yet?

College of Nursing

I signed up for orientation so I got a confirmation, I got something to do an online prep course for orientation, I sent Maureen my Knights email so that got confirmed, and I started setting up the MDT on Certified Profile so I got an email about that. I thinks that's everything. I haven't seen anything about the uniforms, I'm assuming you guys are just getting ahead of it?

Yeah, I haven't received an email about uniforms, either.

Yeahhhhh do you think they would notice if I just got some black scrubs embroidered myself? Those bottom scrubs are looking like they would be highwaters on me :(

Congratulation everyone!

I just graduated from UCF Cocoa in August. To answer your questions about scrubs...they have to be the exact UCF uniform. Unfortunately, they won't allow just plain black bottoms. Yes, they are high waters on the taller girls. lol They are definitely expensive but I only bought 2 sets and they lasted for the entire program. You can buy a lab coat for lab that you may or may not be able to wear to clinicals. It just depends on your clinical instructor. I found that a white long sleeve shirt under my scrub top kept me warm enough.

Advice about books....I definitely wouldn't buy the book bundle if they offer it. I ended up paying like $500 more than those who went on Amazon and did the leg work to find the best price for each book.

With that said I would like to sell all of my books so if anyone wants a steal...let me know!

You guys are about to have a crazy 2 years but I promise it's gonna fly by! 100% of my class has passed NCLEX and almost everyone is employed. It's a hard program but you will be very prepared. :)

Hey guys,

I just found this thread and registered.

I also got accepted into Cocoa nursing program :). I did however talk to Teresa today and she told me she will be sending a ton of emails in regards to uniforms, insurance, books, basically everything we need to know by this weekend or early next. She is waiting for the deadline of the contract (tomorrow) before she sends the information.

Congrats to everyone and I definitely look forward to meeting all my future nursing classmates.

Hey That Girl,

If nobody else has messaged you about the books I am more than interested in purchasing them. I am unsure how to private message, but if you are willing to wait to see if the books are still the same since you graduated I would take them off your hands.

Let me know how to message or find an alternative way to communicate.

Thank you

Hey That Girl,

I would be willing to buy your books from you as well or any of your friends who may be selling their books as well. Thank you for all of the information! :)

Thanks for all the advice! If the book list is the same I def would like to steal some books from ya :) pm your number and ill text you about it when the list comes out...as far as the scrubs the only dif in the bottoms is that they are embroidered with UCF...you really think they would notice if I had black cargo scrubs embroidered on my own?

Congratulations to everyone who was accepted! I'm currently in the BSN program in Daytona, let me know if you have any questions. Looking forward to meeting you all in the Spring!! :)
