U.S.A. Arkansas

Hello,

First Happy New Year to everyone, UALR Nursing application opened today. I created this thread for 2021 applicants, Let us know which program you applied to and any other relevant information. With Covid going on does anyone know if this will delay results? Whats your GPA? Are you applying to Baptist or UAMS as well? In previous forums they were notified in March after or before Spring break. Lets stay connected, I hope everyone is accepted into their selected program of choice.

Hi, I just applied. Did anyone notice there was in option in RN application for accelerated or traditional? I have a 4.0 Nursing prerequisite GPA, and 3.98 overall. Im also applying to Baptist.

I have a 3.4 Overall GPA, I have taken all my sciences I still have statistics and rhet left. Have you taken your TEAS for Baptist?

I am taking my TEAS for Baptist in a few weeks.  Did you apply anywhere else?

Hi! I applied today to the student-RN. My GPA is 3.48. I’m not applying anywhere else. I never wanted to go with UAMS and I didn’t want to do just the Associates for Baptist. Hopefully they will have results by the end of March. Im trying to keep hopeful with just applying to one program.

Did you notice there wasn't an option to apply for their accelerated program option?

For UALR? Yes .  I was more towards the traditional side. I also have everything completed except for Chemistry and human anatomy 2, but I am taking those this semester.

I was also informed by Mrs. Fonville that you have to go through the Associates nursing program to get to the BSN, so maybe once accepted they will ask which route we are taking.

I know in previous years that in the admissions application that it was rather you were applying to the accelerated (18 months) or traditional (24 months) for the associates program. The accelerated versus traditional program is usually in the initial application and based off GPA.

Does anyone know how long the student to RN program is? Also trying to figure out their grading scale. I've heard 18 months including the Summer, but I can't find the information anywhere. I failed a nursing program a couple years back, my GPA excluding that is a 3.9 and I'm looking into schools and options. | Nevermind I've found it guys. Is the accelerated track more hours of class time? I live two hours away and I'm trying to see if I should move. Also will any portion be online due to Covid?

I think the accelerated track is one more class given to shorten the length of time in school. I saw the schedule on their website if I find it again I’ll link it. But it’s like three classes one Summer vs the two classes traditional students get. I have a friend that went to a different program and they are still meeting for class. I’m not sure if she was given the option for online.

Hello! I applied to UALR, and also UAMS. I have a 3.8GPA and an 80% on my TEAS test which I took for UAMS. UAMS is my top choice, but I would certainly be happy at UALR. It would be nice to be a licensed RN in one year, instead of two!!  To answer questions above regarding Accelerated/Traditional, it was my understanding that things had changed and that we would all be applying for the same program. But who knows? For those of you that also applied to UAMS, have you seen a thread about that? If not, I will make one! Good luck, everyone!
