UAB Fall 2013 NP Programs

I have applied to UAB's ACNP program for Fall 2013. Just wanted to start a "roll call", if you will, for all those applying to any of UAB's NP programs for fall 2013 so that we can kind of keep each other posted on the progress of accepectances and etc. Good luck to everyone who has applied! I look forward to hearing from each of you!!

Hi SoBlessed_RN,

I got into to PMHNP program too!! Reading these, I was beginning to think I was the only one from here that applied too. I'm not entirely sure if I'm going in June or July. Would sure like to meet someone from my program though :).

Hi!! I'm glad I'm not the only one! I'm thinking of going to the one in July. I'm not sure if I can make the June one. Where are you from? Hope to meet you at orientation!

Still waiting also...Rizz which program did you apply to?

My first choice is Primary Family Care. Second choice is Pediatric Primary Care. You?

I am still waiting too. I applied to to the primary family care program. Maybe we will all hear something soon!

What I would really like to know is if anyone has gotten a letter saying they are not in the program because that would mean that if we have not heard yet we are still being considered.

SAME! I spoke with someone yesterday and she said the letters were sent out Friday...but if that is the case then how did some people get theirs last week? Makes me worry!

I applied to Primary Family Care with Peds Primary as a backup also and still anxiously waiting. I live in the Atlanta area so I guess I got my hopes up assuming it would get to me quickly!!

I was just saying that I would like to know if anyone has got a letter saying they were on a waiting list or a rejection letter. I really would just like to know. I will be waiting on the mail again tomorrow.

I really hope that everyone who has not yet heard gets good news! In my packet, it has the curriculum laid out for 6 semesters? Does anyone else's have 6? I thought full time was 4 semesters. I'm confused. I don't have my packet with me, but they never mentioned anything about part time.

A friend of mine who also got into the program emailed their advisor and was told that there really isn't a "full time" or "part time" POS. That everyone in the program got the same 6 semester POS.

Mine has 6 semesters as well. What is everyone taking the first semester?

OK cool. I was confused. First semester I take advanced Patho and another class (forgot the name) about advanced practice nursing or leadership.... I think. I'm an hour away from my packet. If I remember correctly, everyone takes the same first few classes. :)
