TWU Houston Fall 2015

Hi everyone!

I didn't see a thread for TWU Fall 2015 for the Houston campus so I wanted to start one. I am scheduled to take the TEAS V on the 24th and I have a 3.3 GPA. Is anyone else out there applying?

Hello, I am applying as well. my GPA is around a 3.6. I am taking the TEAS on either the 23rd or 26th, I haven't registered yet. I am also applying to UT.

I was planning on applying to UT but my HESI score wasn't good but I don't think I could have handled a one year program. I am also planning on applying to HBU for the fall 2015. TWU says 3.5 is the competitive GPA, but the admissions counselor (who is super nice) told me she has seen people with a 3.9 be denied because they didn't meet their requirements on the Teas. I looked in past forums and one person had a 3.01 GPA and an 88 on the Teas and she was accepted. So the Teas weighs heavily on admission decisions.

Thanks for the helpful guides!!

When you took the TEAS were you able to use/bring a calculator? Also, I know the test is 209 mins, but are each section timed or is it like the HESI where you just have to finish the whole test in that amount of time, it didn't really matter how much time you spend on each section?

I didn't do that great on the HESI either, but figured I might as well try since no one really knows what the look at over at UT!!

I haven't taken the TEAS yet but I know that there is NO calculator you are supposed to do everything by hand. Each section is timed, so some people were saying that they had trouble answering all the questions for math and reading before the time ran out.

That's what I had head too. It makes me a little nervous because I am good at math, but if I am under pressure I am worried I may make a mistake, or not finish!!

Hey everyone! I'm taking my TEAS V on the 27th - just before applications are due on February 1st :p I am nervous to take the TEAS V because of the science content... I thought it would just be A&P but I read that it includes physics, chemistry, geology (?), and biology! I paid for an online practice exam through ATI Testing so I will see how that goes. I'm also applying to UTHSC Houston, Lonestar (North Harris?), and of course to TWU Houston. I got my acceptance to TWU in the mail last week, although it was just to the general university and not the nursing program lol.

Just verified everything has been received!!!

Now the waiting begins! It's going to be such a long wait!!

Hello everyone! I applied with a 3.633 gpa and 84 on the TEAS! I also get the TWU preference.

This is the only place I'm applying so fingers crossed for an acceptance!

Goodluck to everyone! :)

Shoot- do you have to be done with Microbiology BEFORE you apply??? I am taking it this semester :( any help would be appreciated

Hi! Yes, you have to have all your science classes completed BEFORE you apply or else you're ineligible :(

That's what I was afraid of :( thanks for the quick response though I appreciate it

Hello everyone! I also applied to TWU for the Fall semester! Good Luck to everyone!
