Twin Cities nurses....whats your take on the job market for RN/LPN in the area.

I live and work in the twin cities in a small facility. My job is secure, but I realize I am out of touch with the reality of the market in the twin cities.I have read posts on the main thread of people having trouble finding work in other parts of the country, and wondered if that is the case in the Mpls/St.Paul area. I have been out of the job search market long enough to just not know. What do you think? Thanks.:typing

I have a couple of open positions on my PM shift in LTC but am holding off on filling them due to a low census. I was at a meeting represented by over 20 LTC facilities yesterday and they all have open beds. We are hearing that there are layoffs happening at the hospitals as the economy is bad and no one is having elective surgeries done.

What facility do you work for Noc4senuf? Do you hire new grad RNs? I would love to work for you. I prefer LTC over hospitals. Any other LTC facilities in the Twin Cities area that you would recommend and/or hiring new grad nurses?

Thanks.
