I am also interested in these types of programs. I work at Kaiser right now (non RN) and would love to stay with Kaiser. I just got accepted to an entry level masters program so I will get my RN license in about 16 months.

Do you know when we can start applying for these type of programs? Is it after we graduate?

Hi, this is off subject a bit but how did you volunteer at HOAG? I heard there are group interviews, what kind of questions do they ask?

Just curious, which entry level masters program are you starting? I am starting at Azusa's eenap program next January, it is a BSN accelerated program. The Kaiser loan forgiveness program is offered to the students there during the first month and I believe they have been known to offer a handful of scholarships to Azusa students. It's pretty competitive from what I hear.

I'm just curious if you could share with me your GPA, science GPA, and what your overall application looked like for Azusa's EENAP program in San Diego? It's my #1 choice that I'm applying to! When did you also apply!? I'm just curious to see if I even have a chance of getting in! Did you apply with any prerequisites in progress? Also, do you know how religious the program is as a graduate program? Have they informed you on anything about this? I'm sooo very excited and happy for you! Hopefully I can get in too someday soon! Azusa's eenap program is an accelerated bsn program for 15 months, then you can come back and are in their master's program. I hope to get my NP there in a couple years after finishing up the bsn. You are automatically in their graduate program, no need to apply, etc. They just want their students to go get hands on experience first.

I am not familiar with Western U. Is it in San Diego?

That is really good that you are automatically in their graduate program. Western Univ of health sciences is located in Pomona.

So in Azusa's program you end up with a BSN and a masters? With Western Univ I get my RN after 16 months and then do the masters portion for the next 2-3 years depending upon which track I choose.

Have you decided which nursing program you will be attending? I am set on Azusa, the eenap program. And yes, you end up with a BSN, then return for grad school for your master's in whatever field you choose.

Have you been able to get more info on the kaiser loan forgiveness program?

Are you a kaiser employee? If so are you union? Check with the union to see if they have any type of forgivable loan/tuition reimbursement type program. I work for Kaiser in OC and I'm applying for 8 hour weekly stipend through my union (seiu-uhw) hope it helps.

The Kaiser Loan Forgiveness Loan program recipients (now graduates for 2009) are not pleased with the outcome so far. Some wheels are turning now so we'll have to see how this works out. Even with a BSN and RN in hand they are not being offered fulltime positions at the stated rate for RNs with benefits almost 2 months after graduation. It also looks like federal stimulus money is involved.
