Tweety I don't think I've ever seen wild parrots around here

Stars hope you feel better

Dianah I made fish with rice and vegetables. And some of Trader Joe's coconut shrimp for yesterday

NJ22 I saw some goldfinches yesterday

Yesterday was a somewhat quieter day. Did bird watching in the morning, did the cooking after I got home, and then watched The Longest Day, which was good but was a bit slow. Spent some time trying to figure out why the app I used to transfer pictures from my camera to my phone wasn't working, eventually figured out it was too old. So I went online to get a cable to connect the phone and the camera, hopefully I can transfer the pictures that way. Went on a bike ride, shorter than expected as it was warmer than I had thought

Today should be a pretty ordinary day at work, apart from having to spend some time on the side project. Will also request the days off for the trip to Madison and get my reservations

Going to be warm again, in the mid to upper 80s

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a nice short week.

I got my new books shelves set up. Took the TaskRabbit guy 3 hours and it was a bit cheaper than the Wayfair service. I never would have been able to do it myself and was worth it. It was no small feat hand carrying the books from one part of the house to the shelves. There's plenty of room on the shelves for more books in the future. I also have a couple of smaller bookshelves full in other parts of the house. It's several decades of reading and collecting books. Not sure why I'm like this. But I do feel accomplished. In the coming months I'll get some furniture, maybe used or thrift store stuff, to make a reading room.

Not much else going on. I do hope to mow the yard today. I had to buy a new trimmer because somewhere along the line the charger to my old trimmer went missing and I was unable to find just a charger.

I was going to show a pic but something about "unknown server". Okay.

Yesterday I was rather productive: Did the dishes ( ! ), did 2 loads of laundry which included all the bedding. I was going to take a shower, but then we had a tremendous thunderstorm so I left that part of my to-do-list for today. I also got another bunch of stuff taken care of that have been hanging over my head, and plans to do a few more things, but no pressure.

I watched the WWII programs presented by Tom ("Forrest Gump"), and they were not only very interesting, but showed a lot of films from that time in history that were quite enlightening. I learned a lot I had never been aware of before. Tinker wanted to go to bed, but I told her "Not until these programs are over", so she just went back to sleep. It was tough to watch all those soldiers who kept smoking and smoking and smoking in so many of the reels they showed, but I gritted my teeth and kept repeating to myself "$10 a pack, $10 a pack!" 😇

I slept pretty well last night and got up at 8:30 AM. But as usual, once I started to scroll on-line I fell asleep again and suddenly it's 2 hours later!

So, I will stop here and get in the shower because it is going to be another HOT day, this time with a humidity level of 93 %. Gonna be very UGH! But I do have a few errands to run, so there's no putting it off any longer.

Methinks it will be better to shower AFTER I get back from being outside in that severe humidity and doing errands. No one will complain, at least I don't think so! Tinker always burrows into my armpit, or down near my butt and never complains or moves suddenly if a trumpeting noise happens. Now THAT's LOVE! ❤️ 😅

OMG, I can't stop laughing.

We didn't do much for the weekend, but do want to honor the heroes. And work to continue all they sacrificed for.

I went to church without Hubs Sunday. We had decided to try to go sailing Monday and he wanted to clean the boat and get it ready. But it was hot and he gets fatigued easily, so he gave it up at some point and finished up the boat-cleaning/prep yesterday. Now it is ready when we want to go. He says we can just "pack a picnic basket and go." It never really works quite like that, but at least the boat is ready. We watched the beginning of the Indy 500 before getting shut out by the paywall. Hubs says all he really wants to watch is the beginning and end, anyway. I enjoy the pageantry of the opening.

Our toaster oven's lower heating element had quit working some time ago. Hubs tried to find a replacement element without success. I bought a bigger oven that is a combo toaster oven and air fryer. Kind of anxious to try it.

I love the music from Phantom of the Opera but I have not actually seen it. For one thing, it just isn't something Hubs would ever do with me. The boys might, but they are mildly prejudiced against Phantom because one of the girls in the church youth group was fixated on Phantom and they got tired of that.

Did several weeks worth of shopping because my SS check was in the checking acct.

I got a new toy for Tinker; because again this AM she flushed out that little bunny from under a shed on the neighbor's property, I found a little toy bunny and I wasn't really even looking, but when I turned into the aisle for pet food, there was a fuzzy squirrel toy hanging on the display wall. She was excited when I took it out of the bag. But, alas! I had to take it away from her after about 20 minutes because she started yanking out the fuzz with her front teeth, and there were little piles of it all around her! I said, "THAT is why you always are kacking! Kack! Kack! I picked up the piles of fuzz and set the squirrrel-toy up where she couldn't see or get at it. Am I going to have to SHAVE the thing before I let her have it again? Kack!

I didn't do a heck of a lot when I got back from shopping. But I do have to start sorting through all the stuff in my old bedroom soon, because; WHEN and IF I am going to move down to my friend's house in FLA, I will have to thin out my belongings considerably, and will have to put at least more than half of it in some kind of storage somewhere. I won't try to drag everything I have with me, because there is sooooo much STUFF and even necessary things will probably have to be stored SOMEWHERE (but WHERE to store it is another question.) I'm not sure where because ... I mean.....where??? If I move down there, how long will I be there and where will I ultimately end up moving to whenever I do it again? There are no answers right now, especially to the second part of the question. Moving is not my favorite thing! The very idea has kept me a bit stunned with exhaustion at the mere THOUGHT of it this aftermnoon.

e had intermittent thunderstorms today... a couple of frog-drowners! Hot and humid today and more of the same tomorrow.

Almost time to go upstairs and read, and hang out in my bed and read!
