Tweety hope the AC gets fixed soon

Ado I think his eyes are yellow/amber

Stars glad you made some progress on the paperwork

NJ22 glad the concert and the weather was nice

Work was a bit difficult yesterday, coworker who was off got a new case and had a few other tasks that seemed to involve a lot of emails and documents. If it was only my own work it would have been a slow day. Got everything done, though left the calls for the new case for today. After work decided to do grocery shopping a day early, in case I have to stay late today, and exercised

Cat is doing good, doesn't bother me too much at work and is good about not waking me up at night. We're still getting adjusted to each other but things are going well

Today is coworker's last day off, hopefully I won't have to stay late but we'll see. Nothing planned after work except for exercise

Will be in the mid 80s again

Good morning!

Joe, hope today isn't as bad and you have a good day. Seems like despite the challenges you always end with "I got everything done".

I slept medicated with the room air conditioner. I turned it off after the room cooled off but woke up at 3AM and turned it back on and slept a couple of hours. Waffles woke me up on the floor wanting back in bed. Rarely does she not sleep through the night with me and hardly ever gets out of bed, but maybe with the new noise from the air conditioner and having all the doors closed she got a little spooked.

Going to do as little as possible today because of the heat. Just some easy cooking and no cleaning or anything. Will probably go over to a friends and visit just to get cool.

Going to listen to ED Sheerin the car, his album "X" (multiply). I will bemoan the time I buy a new car and there won't be a CD player in it.

Yesterday's 3 hour tour was of Riverside, both the 'regular' parts of town, and the streets with all the boutique shops, and all the parks, THEN the really big houses of the quite wealthy. Again, the best things to see were the trees! In the rich part of town the enormous homes were frequently on old Plantations, and my God, the TREES WERE MASSIVE with very long branches that were VERY long, heavy enough to be a tree on their own if they weren't already attached to a monster-sized trunk. Many 'snaky' limbs, all growing in complicated directions; difficult to explain, but so impressive that all I could keep saying is "WOW! WOW! WOW!"

I called the car insurance to change my address and they told me to call the Relocation Dept about 2 days before I went to get my license, because if I did it ahead of time and turned out not to be insured for a longer period of time, I could not only lose my insurance, but also my driver's license! Fortunately my car insurance from NC doesn't lapse until November, and I can show them that policy, but if my FLA policy is only in the works and I don't have a FLA card to show them..... Ah, me, I just don't understand why everything has to be so complicated. But I did get the stuff sent off to the Clerk of Courts and the Whatever-Deeds Dept and will have to wait for those to get there per snail-mail, and then for the documents to come back to me. I got two of each in case I ever have to prove who I am again, at any given point in time.

I still have not gotten an appt to see an doc, and I don't know what to do except see if I can find one on line who accepts Medicare and does "geriatrics" which means ME 😝. I had to call my old doc in NC to have him call in a refill on Robaxin which I am out of in three days. But, see, down here the pharmacy only accepts refill requests one at a time, and you bring them the empty bottle from the previous pharmacy's prescription, they contact the previous pharmacy, and then will fill it for you. The thing about the med I called for is that Dr's approval is required, so I had to contact my NC doc and have him call in a refill to my previous pharmacy, and then take the empty bottle to the new pharmacy before they can contact the old pharmacy so I can get it. Going around Farmer Jones's Barn to follow the correct procedure, otherwise I will be out of the med and who knows how long I will have to wait for an appt w/ a new doctor. I should've gotten the new Dr way back when, but I have been so distracted by having to getting my banking set up, the dog's rabies shot taken care of, and all the change of address info and the hearing aids being missing, and, and, and.... it didn't even occur to me I had no refills left on the Robaxin until last night when I went to refill the mediset. Jazeus H Kryst! I still need a secretary and a CPA and a manager!

And a housekeeper, because I still haven't started to clear the time from all the other things that require attention, in order to apply myself to getting my pigsty cleaned out and straightened up.

Oh, and the Senior housing that J wanted to show me was the Presbyterian HIGH RISE which was more like $1700/mo rent, which would leave me approx $90 to live on the remainder of the month. Nope! Can't do that! Also, would not care at all to live in a high rise no matter what the 'fabulous view' might be! And all the waterfront properties are outrageously expensive with a beautiful view of the water which means too MANY private piers and boats and boats and boats. I wouldn't care to have a back yard where all you could smell is the fumes from the boat fuel and exhaust and hear the clack-clack=clacking of the multiple boats and their rigging. Plus, Riverside has very complicated roads going every-which-ways, with multiple intersection light systems, and every road is composed of multiple S-curves beyond belief.... no straight roadways AT ALL. But at least I don't have to worry about moving again anytime soon, I HOPE!

The good news is things are progressing forward, even if at a snails pace. But now I must go to the bank and the post office, and then it will be time to walk Tinker again. TINKER has begun to use the pee-pad on the floor, FINALLY! And THAT is good news because not only does he manage to hold his water and business most all of the time, when he can't , he DOES now use the pee-pad. Hallelujah!

The black cat, Cornelia, is curious about coming in to my room and hangs around the baby gate or to the side of it, but Tinker is positively explosive if he sees the cats here, and then there is a lot of multi-pawed and nail-scrabbling of running on the uncarpeted floors, because Wolfie goes off when Tinker barks. I have to find something to discourage Tinker from reacting like she does. Will have to do an on-line search, because nothing I've tried so far has worked, and Cornelia just will NOT give Tinker a good SLAP on her snout!

Blah, blah, and blah. Have to go out on the errands. Maybe I will at least get my bed freshly made up and one corner of the room moved around to clean it up. Let us pray!

No, no, no, Stars! Your dog is FEMALE, not a HE! Gosh! I apologize to Tinker.

I did find her something to wear so she won't be shivering from the AC when I am not here to cuddle up to. I wanted to get her the green polo-shirt, but there was nothing in her size. There was a pink polo-ish thing with a SKIRT on it, with pink-striped RUFFLES for cryin' out loud! It is way too absurd looking on her, and too 'girly-girl'; doesn't suit her at all, and I will not be allowing her out in public wearing it! I only got it because it would fit her and keep the A/C from causing her to get so tightly bunched up, her posture reflecting she is feeling too chilly. They keep the A/C on 70 degrees, and even I have to put on a sweatshirt or sweater when I'm sitting around ... but at least mine is not pink and ruffled! Since she doesn't care about the color or the ruffled skirt, I put it on her and she seems to like the way it makes her feel, which is WARMER. She was glad to get it off at bedtime

The smoke is moving in from the eastern side of the state. Yuck, although it's not bad now. I made a peach cake for dh. And cleaned the bathrooms. Such excitement. I was going to volunteer at a food bank garden, but the organizer was not there. I took some photos to write an article about it for the newsletter. Tomorrow is Senior Day at the park where are demo garden is, and I signed up to lead a couple of garden tours. Most people want to know about the historic house on site, so I have brushed up on the history of that.
