TTC Covington 2014

Published

I am interested in applying to the LPN program at TTC Covington, TN. I know it is a little early considering they are not taking calls about the 2014 program until January 2014, however, I am looking for anyone that might be applying to the program. I would like to have some people to talk to during the application process and such.

Also, if anyone has attended this program I would love to hear.... the good, bad and ugly.

hey I'm in the same boat also waiting I been searching and searching for questions and answers I actually take the COMPASS! test tomorrow NERVOUS!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you taking it at the covington sight or memphis?

I took it at memphis but didn't pass missed it by 5points so I will retake in December :(

I attended the program in newbern and just graduated this year...I know it's not covington but I've heard that the ttc programs are generally the same. If I can help, please let me know :)

What was your compass test scores help me PLEASE LOL

I had like a 93 in English and I barely passed the math...I had to take the math portion twice in fact. I suck really bad at it lol I only made like 5 points above the passing score. But I still got in so don't lose hope! I believe the math portion is not as important because they can teach you math in the program. They can't teach you to read!

You got this!! Keep your head up. Just take the time to remember what was on it and study. People will say you dont need to study but I would disagree. If there is something like fractions you have a hard time with then practice, practice, practice! I have not taken the compass yet but I have taken the TEAS two time and both times passed with greater than 90%. Is there anything you can recall specifically that was on the compass that you might have had a hard time with? Will you be attending the Covington campass or Memphis?

Oh thank you very much. I havnt seen the Covington campass but I did drive to the Memphis campass to sign up for the test and got scared bc of all the loitering of "hoodrats". I hope this is not offensive to anyone I just felt really out of place. I heard the Covington one is not like that.

I am very conflicted as to rather or not I should take this step. I was dismissed from a BSN program for a failure of less than .01. I have been super bummed since then. I did go on the graduate with my Bachelors in Health Administration but there is just no jobs. And i really want to eventually be a FNP.

Were you able to find a job as an LPN pretty easily?

There were quite a few nursing homes around where I live for full time jobs. So I don't think getting a job will be a problem UNLESS your in my situation. I'm currently back at school for my RN and none of the places I wanted to apply to were willing to work around my schedule, so I've never actually been employed as an LPN. These nursing homes really want you to work a lot. If not for school, I could easily have a job. But it could be different in your area....I'm just explaining my city. But all of my classmates that decided to just stay as an LPN had jobs within a month or even sooner.

Yea I have no desire to stay an LPN. I have every intention of bridging to my RN and then BSN and finally FNP. Seems like such a long journey jeez. That stinks people are not willing to work with you while you are going back to school. That is not an option for me not working. I already spent 6 years in college for my bachelors. Is your bridge program online or is it all in a class room?

Yeah, I know! But luckily I have no children to take care of and a husband who has supported me financially through school. And actually I'm only taking my pre reqs right now. Sorry I didn't mean to make it sound like I was in the program yet. I'm planning on applying next year. But I do know that it is a class room program, not online.
