trying to save a buck!

I think I have decided to start Excelsior lpn-rn by doing the exam by credit route. Do they allow you to do exam by credit for the pre-req's and is there a cheaper option for buying study material. I went into their bookstore and the one book I pulled up was 159$.

Lots of folks sell those used study guides on ebay.......

All of the pre-reqs can be done by exam but I don't know about the English requirement. I had already taken English 1101/1102 in a classroom. But I think they offer an English exam through UExcel and I know they offer an English course. Information Literacy is a course that can be done in a matter of hours if you've got the time, although they give you 8 weeks to complete it. There's lots of study materials out there and also places where you can buy the books at a fraction of the price like amazon and eBay. Search these forums and read of the successes some had with studygroup101. I personally didn't use studygroup101 until I got to anatomy and micro because I had not heard of them when I was doing the nursing exams and those two exams were not required before the nursing portion as they are now. Be sure to use the content guide and review questions at the end of the guide. Good luck with the program!
