Hi all. I'm currently in graduate school completing my Elementary Education degree and I'm a Teacher Assistant. I'm not enjoying it and I'm ready to which. I've been looking into Surgical Technology and it's sounds really cool. I've watched plenty of YouTube videos to give me a general idea. I would like to do that while completing my nursing degree as I would love to be an OR nurse. I just wanted to know if it would be worth it to become a CNA while working as a Surgical Tech. Then working as a Surgical Tech while becoming a nurse. Some Surgical Tech jobs I've seen want you to have some CNA experience. I just don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

Don't you have to have some training/degree to work in surgical technology (whatever it is)? I am also confused as to the path/s you want to take. As I understand it, you are still in your Childhood Education graduate program, right? So, upon graduation you want to become a CNA so you can work as a surgical tech, and then work as a surgical tech to become a nurse? Why don't you just go an accelerated BSN route now that you will have a second degree in your pocket? You will save time and money. The whole thing you want to do just does not make sense to me.
