Trying to get in RN Program

Published

I am 54, have all my prerequisites and co requisites required for local college. I am also a surg tech. This school (FGC) says they only go by points. I barely missed the cut off last year and will have more points this year.

But the bar can be raised or lowered by the students applying. I have to wait 3 months until I get a letter of acceptance or rejection.

I was born to be a nurse.

If I don't get in this time I know I could take the LPN course but that is not at all what I want.

I wonder if my age is a factor. Plus I only have a 3.1 GPA I hate this feeling of what will I do if I get rejected again. I don't think I have the heart to keep trying. Praying I make it.

Apply to both the Rn and the LPN program as well and which ever one excepts you first. If you get into the Rn program great but if not, you could always do LPN and bridge over to an Rn program. I myself to have all of my prereqs and Coreqs for a BSN program but got rejected from the rn program once and was put on a two year waiting list for another rn program so I decided to do an lpn program. Good luck with your journey
