Hey everyone! I am an LPN and I am taking my prereqs to get into a BSN program. Everyone around me in my classes seems to be doing the same thing! It just seems like such a numbers game! Ahhhhh! I have a 3.6 gpa and I am scared that is not going to be good enough. My school basis it on ACT scores and gpa. I got a 21 on my ACT so looks like I will be taking it again! Oh the pressure! Is everyone else a basket case with the numbers game!?

Yup. In the same boat in Florida. Yes - I'm a ball of stress. It's horrible. : (
My application doesn't go in until Feb 1 2011. I am going to be a giant ball of stress until then! Ahhhh!

I feel your pain! The program I'm applying to doesn't even go by merit, they do a lottery selection system - think of how stressed I am right now. I am quite nearly ripping my hair out!
Lottery selection! How is that fair?

A lot of schools these days seem to do the lottery, which has its pluses and minuses.
I'm going for my BSN right now, and the competition is FIERCE!! I'm actually applying to 10+ schools! I'm a ball of stress until February, too, when I should be hearing back from the schools. I also have another school I'm applying to in Feb, possibly. We have to cast a wide net these days, and not just count on one school. All these budget cuts have made it even harder to get in. I'm just hoping to get into ONE.
I know exactly what you mean roadbikemama!!! I am applying to 2 BSN programs (one is my favorite) and a third choice is doing the LPN bridge to RN program. I really want my BSN, though..... I am no spring chicken so I want to get it done while I am in "school mode":o
Yep. I'm 30 with a hubby and a son, and I plan to go for my master's (midwifery), so I NEED to get my BSN. My father-in-law keeps harping on applying for ADN programs, too, and I'm like, I'M NOT GOING THAT ROUTE. STOP GOING THERE!!! That's why I'm applying at so many schools. It has to happen NOW. And, of course, in my younger days, I wasn't as careful about my GPA, so I've been having to make up for that in the last few years.
