Returning back to school trying to find part time work at the hospital during night shift. The CNA class is shorter and more expensive then an EMT class in my area. The EMT class is about $800 two days a week four month's long. The CNA class is four week's long $1500. Be easier for me to take the EMT class would hospitals hire CNAS over EMTs. Does either of the certification matter. Appreciate the feedback.

The hospital where I once worked hired EMT's over CNA's in certain departments like the Emergency room and the operating room where the EMT's also made more money than the CNA's. At the same time, EMT's were not hired in other deparments like on some patient floors.
In my state, EMT's cannot work in long term care facilities where as a CNA is most likely to find work in LTC.
So, in a way, it could depend on where you would prefer to work...hospital or LTC.
