I am interested in the Tri-C Nursing program. I already have a A.A.S. degree in another field (waiting on my transcript to get on file for DARS/ Councilor visit.
I have a few questions:
1) For the Generic track do I need to have A & P done before I sit for the A2 entrance exam? Is it just math and reading or will there be A & P too?
2) Is there a closing date to send in you RN school application ? What is it for the Fall and What is it for the Spring?
3) Is there a waiting list? If so how long is it now? Is it based on your A2 score and GPA to be raked on the top of that list?

I just met with my counselor last week for the Tri-C nursing program, I have two other AAS degrees as well. You have to finish your pre-reqs first before you can even request to have your academic history reviewed by the program. Once they review it tand approve it hey then allow you to take the HESI admissions test, which is just math and english according to the program packet. Once you take the test and pass, then you can officially apply to the program, at least that's my understanding. Depending on if you want day or evening classes there really isn't a long waiting list which is surprising. I will finish my pre-reqs in summer and could possibly begin the evening/weekend program next Fall, provided they still have room. Do you have a lot of pre-reqs to complete? One of my degrees is in medical assisting so I only have three. You can run a DARS online through My Tri-C Space. Hope this info is helpful, and best of luck!

Since I am also waiting to enter the nursing program at Tri-C (in Ohio right) then I will try to answer your questions from what I know so far.
From what I understand you don't have to have A&P done before sitting for the Hesi. I am taking A&P I now and I took the Hesi in September.
As far as I know, there is no closing date of when to send in your application. Tri-C has a rolling admissions policy. Once you finish the prereqs, you have to get your grades reviewed and then sit for the Hesi exam. Once that is completed, you have to submit your application and then they place you in the next available class pending that you pass the background check.
My adviser told me that there is no waiting list. It is not based on your A2 score. They require a 75% in both math and the english/reading portions in order to get in. Also your gpa must be a 2.5 and above.
Those are the only requirements as far as I know of. Hopefully we are talking about the same Tri-C in Cleveland, Ohio. If not, then please ignore everything I just said.
Thank you so much!!! and Yes I am talking about Tri-C in Cleveland , Ohio.
Have you gotten in RN school for the spring?
I hope you did!!
No, I didn't get in for Spring. They are already closed for Spring admission. Hopefully, I will begin the accelerated program in the fall 2014.
That sucks...but it is cool you have a 4 yr degree to get in the accelerated program. Look me up on FB I would love to be kept in your update loop of your progress
Which campus are you both looking at going to? Bubbly26, I am jealous that you are able to do the accelerated program. Two Associates should equal one Bachelors I think, then I'd be able to do the accelerated as well :) Best of luck!
I am looking to go to either Metro or East. Both are almost equal distance from my house. Since the accelerated program is at Metro then I guess that's my first choice?
How about you? Which campus are you planning on applying to?
Oh I forgot to thank you for your time as well BuckeyeCMA!!! I think when I get my transcript review I will have a better idea as to my plan of action. But to tell you the truth I would be willing to go to any campus night or days to get the first part of my goal done (End game is Flight Nurse).
Good Luck to you then! Have you started on your prereqs? If so, which classes have you taken so far?

I'm going to be doing evening/weekend at Metro. I've taken a few classes there before. As part of the MA program we had to do some hours at the PCC at East and both are pretty nice campuses. Of course they discontinued the program at West right when I decide to go for it, but that's just my sort of luck. Keep us posted on your progress, it would be interesting to hear any similarities or differences between the accelerated and generic.
I've actually thought about Flight Nurse before, is that something you've always wanted to do? Keep us posted on your progress as far as pre-reqs. I have psych online and biochem at West in the Spring, then my final math in the Summer. Hopefully you won't have many to complete.
