Trauma Nurse interview

Hello all. I am a new member to the board. I'm a pre-nursing student in Florida.

I'm doing a research paper (for my ENC class) on Paramedic and Trauma Nursing careers. I was hoping that I may be able to entise one or two volunteers to do an interview via e-mail (or pm... whatever you're comfortable with).

The questionare is relatively short. I basically need to know what you love about being a Trauma Nurse, what the disadavantages are, why you chose this career, etc.

Any volunteers?

I could give it a try I guess:

I have been in a level one trauma center since 1996 in various capacities: staff nurse, charge nurse and case manager. I love it because no day is ever the same. It is always very hard work and truly keeps me on my toes but I like a little chaos in my life.

What I don't like is the current climate in the US with the uninsured, mentally ill, unstable and others in that category whereby they are second class citizens.

Does that help? If I can be of further assistance, just PM me. Take care and welcome.

I've been in our Level 1 Trauma Center since 1985. You can pm me the questions and I can take a look.......

We are a helpful bunch.

I've been an ED nurse (and a nurse) for 5 years. Level One trauma and now working as a traveler (puts a whole new spin on trauma sometimes it seems- especially going from level one to community hospital back to level one....:rotfl:

PM me if it will help.

Thank you guys so much. You are definately a helpful bunch and I feel right at home here. Thanks for such a great welcome. This is a wonderful board. There's so much knowledge and exerience here. :)

I work in Accident and Emergency in the UK, at one of the largest hospital in London, get in touch if you would like the views of someone from across the lake..
