transferring transcripts from RN to LVN

Hi,

My transcripts are with RN rightnow . I want to transfer that to LVN. Can you please point me in right direction? I checked in http://www.bvnpt.ca.gov and in http://www.rn.ca.gov but was unsuccessful.

Please advise .

Thanks in Advance and have a good day ..

Sam, are you a graduate RN or were you an RN student deciding to complete an LVN program instead? Your question is unclear.

If you completed a portion of an RN program, but have now decided to see how much of what you have completed with transfer to an LVN program, you need to contact the LVN schools of your choice and discuss with them your plan and they will likely ask for your transcripts to date and advise you on admission to their program after a review of what you have already completed.

If that was not your question, write again and clarify it. We'll be happy to help if we can.

Sam,

Your confusing us, i'm not sure on why you want to do that, RN have more advantage than LVN.

1. Opportunity to work any place, guided by Doctor not LVN.

2. Salary.

3. and many more ...

It look like you are bringing yourself down or demoting yourself. :uhoh3:

Hi jsteine1 and Nat,

Thank you very much for your help ..

I am into general nursing (student) and I already appeared for RN twice (CA state)..

Now I am thinking of taking LVN before my RN 3rd attempt . Also , I feel LVN will definitely give me an advantage in my next RN exam.

My transcripts are with RN and I want to transfer that to LVN. I hope I made myself clear.

Please advise

The LVN exam will not give you an edge in taking the RN exam. They are not related at all, other than both are ccomputer based exams. You would be much better off in putting your energy into passing the RN exam, rather than taking the time to prepare and study for the PN exam.

If you decide to go ahead and go the LVN route, you will need to submit a new application, as well as have a new set of transcripts submitted. They will not just change things over for you without the fees being paid, etc.

Please be careful how you word this. There is nothing wrong w/being an LPN/LVN and to say it's a "demotion" is really insulting and inflammatory to many of them, and even to us, as RN's.

This is not meant to be an RN versus LPN thread.

Thank you for understanding.

I apologize for the misunderstanding. :crying2:
