Transfer one BSN program to another

Hi there,

I am currently in a nursing school that is certified with the BRN, but not CCNE. The school says they are working on the CCNE accreditation, but there has been no progress, and I am getting nervous as I continue to pay and progress in the program. Does anyone know if I could transfer to another BSN program in CA (such as West Coast University) and if they will accept the clinical rotations I have already completed? I already did gero and fundamentals and have worked so hard already, putting in long hours at the hospital. The thought of having to do that again is heart breaking.

Sounds like you should either ask this question in the CA Nursing Programs board (located under the "Region" tab) or hope a helpful staffperson will move the post for you.

As for transferring - good luck. My understanding is that transferring between nursing programs is a crapshoot at best, and that's when both schools are accredited by the exact same bodies.

Further, you could always try the novel idea of actually picking up the phone to call the schools in question and ask. I realize that it's a holiday weekend, but it's something you could easily do come Tuesday morning.
