transcript example

Hi everyone,

Can somebody provide an example of a transcript or breakdown of training hours?? I would like to compare my training hours with an US trained nurse.

I have applied for a RN license in Florida as a foreign trained nurse. I meet all requirements the Fl.BON states, but, after evaluation by Silny & Associates, my training is considered the equivalent of a PN. The BON requires a minimum in training hours which I exceed aplenty.

So, I'm not sure what to think now.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

The transcript from the University should list all the hours you have in theory & practice. I got them to send me a copy - which I was glad I did because they made a mistake on the 1st one!

See if they will give you a copy so you can check.

Also a lot will depend on where you trained. If the UK then you may find you are short in hours in some areas

That's not the problem, I'm not short in hours at all. I was trained in the Netherlands.

That's why I want to compare my transcript ( which I have a copy of ) with a US transcript. I have a feeling a mistake was made...I'm just don't understand why I'm not accepted for RN.

maybe instead of looking for an example of a US transcript, you could look at the course descriptions and outlines of a few US nursing schools to see if the content and total credit hours are similar to your education. This information is usually available on on nursing school websites.

Without looking at my transcripts I can give you an idea of the hours I did in practice, hours of theory would take me a little longer to work out but for each speciality it would be at least 37.5 hours - I think.

Clinical practice hours

Acute med >1000 hours

Acute surg >1500 hours

Maternity 150 hours

Psych 300 hours

Paeds 300 hours

community 150 hours

I applied through Vermont and they aked for further breakdown so I ended going through CGFNS and wish I'd done this in the first place. It is expensive but you'll end up going through the process anyway for a Visa screen cert

Thanks, this is what I wanted to know

I have similar hours, only for med and surg I have 720, however that's way more than the minimum required for Fl.

So this makes me wonder even more why I'm not accepted for RN

I've now started an application through CGFNS too, but not for Fl. I have the Visa screen going too.

Wish I had done that too in the first place
