total cost to test

I see various discussions about costs to test, etc. How much total to test to include State Nursing Borad fee for ATT, airfare, boarding, testing, food, etc? To test in hong kong, Is P30000 really enough for all this. is there any other hidden or follow on expenses? There always seem to be another fee as soon as one is paid. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

For Vermont, application fee is $150. Pearsonvue registration is $200, HK scheduling fee of $150. Cebu Pacific was about $200 (taxes included) early this year. I booked the hotel 2 months before my exam so it was cheaper, 4-star harbourview room for only $80+/night (tax included) in HK island. You will need transpo from the airport to the hotel and vice versa + food + shopping ;) allowance.

My nephew went to Saint Augustine University in Lagro. The university is telling the graduates for PN that the cost is $350.00 for airfare, hotel and testing. Is this accurate? They also are telling them that there will be a representative to meet them at the airport and take them to the hotel. Have you heard of this? What about a test preparation course? They are saying 12 weeks for P21,000.00 for that. Is this reasonable? Who does this type of prep courses? Have you attended one of these before you tested? Did it help? Thanks.

Tell him to stay away from those prep courses there. Have bad histories in the US. But just noticed, you are speaking of the PN course, am I correct?

The practical nurse exam will not get him a visa to work in the US. Is that correct what you posted, the PN exam? Or is it actually the RN exam?

Taking and passing the NCLEX-PN exam will not permit that license holder to work in the US, as it is not accepted by US immigration for a visa. And for anyone to tell you differently, your nephew would be brought into the US on fraudulent documents as an unskilled worker and that makes him subject to deportation if caught.

Unless, he already has a green card or is a US citizen, that program was completely useless in the first place. Please check out the other threads about the LPN programs in the Philippines.

Not good.

suzanne4, thanks we were getting ready for a very big let down. so taking and passing the nclex PN exam won't get him to the usa? I'm not sure exactly what he has been told, but am pretty certain he was told the us, canada, austrailia are among the counrties he was told he could work in if he pas the PN nclex exam.

And that was completely false information given to him. Immigration in Canada and the US does not grant visas for the LPN role. Even for the RN in Australia, the RN has to go thru a special training program for a certain length of time to get a license there and be able to work. They do not do it with the LPN license. And the Philippine government does not even accept it for work purposes.

I am getting so tired of these programs making promises that they cannot keep, and yet the government there in PI continues to let them operate. And they even open more. Something needs to be done about that. But there are no legal visas for them to come to the US with the LPN to work. Only way is to be brought in illegally on an unskilled worker visa.........and then that makes them subject to deportation as it is immigration fraud. Do not let any agency tell him that they can get him work. It will not be legal work and he will be treated like their slave.

Suggest that he save his money from taking the NCLEX and use the money towards getting his RN. Then he can legally get a visa for many countries.

It is really important to do your homework first before getting into something. Besides this is your future.:o

hello!!! do u have an idea if how much will it cost taking nclex in saipan from the phils? how much will you be spending including the fare and accomodation? etc...

a review center is offering a hassle-free processing of the nclex-rn for 600 USD. this 600 USD is worth until the arrival of the ATT. is this too much? i wanted to do the procesing on my own, but im finding it hard to get hold of the reqs, like the fingerprint card which they say can be obtained from the embassy. problem is, the embassy is in manila, but im based in the visayas. when helpful relatives ask how much i need, i say roughly around 1000 USD, ALL expenses included (processing, test, review, fare and acco. to HK, etc).

am i on target, or is this too much? thanks.

Please read suzanne4s repsonse to the intial thread. The PN nclex is useless in the USA. Save your money. We have all been mislead.

Sorry, but there is no reason in the world to give a company that amount of money to do something for you that is easy to do. The exam is $200 US, and $150 extra if not in the US or a US territory. So HK is $350, and Saipan is $200 for the testing. You have the cost of fingerprinting, and things like that.

To pay for a review over there as well is crazy, not worth it. Can do much better on your own.

I would like to add more to help Suzzane, these people are gaining to have full profits here. They ride with the bandwagon because of Health care services are currently in need of health workers to fill the job. Nclex-Pn is totally different compared to RN. There are a lot of schools that are sprouting here in the PI, just to inform the public of Practical Nursing. People especially the owners of these institutions are motivated to have your money they don't care if you graduate from them. Beware, not only of agencies, illegal recruiters, even schools would you believe that are making false claims here.
