Top things about applying

for those of us still waiting on acceptance letters, i thought we could use a good laugh to lighten the mood. so, feel free to join in and post the worst things about waiting for the letter, i'll start:

1. i am stalking my mail man...and i think he's into it

2. compulsively checking the mailbox and walkway, just to make sure you haven't dropped anything.

3. waiting!!!

4. compulsively checking allnurses.com from every computer/phone, and getting pe'd when there is no internet connection.

5. not being able to focus on my current semester because i cant wait to leave class to check my mail box.

6. being paranoid that someone took the letter/package.

7. annoying everyone in your life...daily.

any more?:coollook:

#16: While you wait for what you hope is an acceptance letter, you look up the course schedules to see how you might plan your classes the next semester.

#17: Stalking your phone waiting for someone to call saying a letter came if you aren't at home.

#18: Checking the school's nursing website because you're paranoid something might change lol.

#19: You consider remailing/faxing all your application criteria because you begin to think they might not have gotten it.

20. You start practicing NCLEX questions, because you think it's never too early to start preparing and it just might bring positive vibes to the powers that be that YES, you are committed to this!

21. You start shopping for scrubs, trying to decide which color is cutest on you.

22. You spend more and more time on allnurses.com ... just to ease the pain ... misery loves company.

LOL guys, I'm really happy this thread is back up and giving other people relief! LOL on the recent adds, I've got one

23. Calling different numbers in the nursing/admissions office to see if the different people give you the same answer because you don't believe the others.....

You know you do it, can't be just me. Good luck to those of us still waiting..and stalking the mailman.

These are all too funny.......I thought I was the only one thinking/almost doing all of these things! Especially the checking the school's nursing website. I did the scrubs thing along time ago.....:) I checked my transcript profile via our school's online program to see when my grades were looked at...I'm slowly coming undone! Good luck to all of us.

Couldn't help but laugh! I was there last May. I sent in my application & waited & waited. When several of my friends who also applied & who happen to be neighbors(with higher GPAs) started receiving their acceptance letters my heart just sank. I checked the mailbox for 3 days and cried everyday. I hadn't even gotten a denial notification letter. So, finally I just called, my heart pounding, lump in my throat. Turns out I screwed up my own address and my ACCEPTANCE letter had been sent back to them! Talk about relief...and embarrassment. Today I screwed up a simple piggyback so I guess I'm destined for embarrassment. Hang in there.

LOL you all dont even know how funny and great all these seem.....even though the majority of them may be true :D

These postings have definitely made me feel more at ease as I await to hear from my schools....and theyre amazing after a long day of work that only reminds me how much I want nursing.

I think I have definitely thought about resending all my application and supplemental materials....and I am REALLLLY guilty of calling different depts @ the schools because I cant find it in me to trust admissions staff answers lol

Good Luck to all!
