Hey y'all!
I've been a nurse for 14 years. My background is med-surg, ED, PACU.. I've been searching for my niche in nursing over the years, but I've never truly felt fulfilled by what I was doing. I have an interview tomorrow with the Hospice Team that cared for both of my grandparents when they died with cancer nearly 15 years ago when I was in nursing school. I feel like this opportunity is God answering my prayers! I have so much respect for the hospice philosophy and what it stands for. Naturally, I want to do my best on this interview, so if anyone has any tips or guidance, I'd greatly appreciate it. And I'll take prayers, too! 😊
thank you!

Hi:
Be sure to tell them why you want to be a hospice RN. Let them see your passion for hospice. Do ask questions such as hourly vs. salary, how on-call works, and position requirements and expectations saving the salary vs. hourly until the end as well as asking about mileage reimbursement. If you have any experiences diffusing difficult situations, share them. Hospice Nursing Support Group Public Group | Facebook is a good resource.
Thank you.
Thank you! My interview went great! They unofficially offered me the job! Just waiting to hear from HR! I'm so excited!

So how has the transition been so far? I'm getting ready to interview for a Hospice RN admissions position after doing med/surge, ICU and ER nursing for the last 8 years.
