time frames on NCLEX CA?

hi! im from the philippines, i really look forward to someone who give me clearer explanations... i already filed an NCLEX application plus the complete requirement to Ca BON last july 2008.

my questions are (1)when is the estimated time that i can receive my eligibility?, (2) does my eligibilty have time limit too? if so what's the validity date of my eligibilty and when does the counting begins? (3)and after i receive my eligibility, do i need to register immediately at pearson vue?

if i got it correctly, i know that after registering with pearsonvue, il receive a confirmation. and my registration will remain open for 365 days ,the time period beginswhen Ca Bon receives my registration from pearson vue. right?

well, im planning to take the exam in washington on JULY 2009. i want to have the proper timing for all issues regarding my NCLEX as much as possible.

Moving your thread to the International Forum since it is specific to foreign nurse licensure in the US.

You filed for licensure to the CA BRN, you are unable to file an application to sit for the NCLEX exam. You actually must meet the requirements for licensure and then they will approve you to sit for the exam. Average wait time is four to six months to receive approval for the exam provided that you meet their requirements. Not sure if you are aware that you also need to take and pass the NLE before they will look at your application. Everything has a time limit, and money gets forfeited if things are not completed. Also be aware that there is a very specific three year timeframe that one has to get the SSN# to the CA BRN or the results of the exam are destroyed. You are looking at more than five years for a chance at a green card, so definitely take the time to do some reading on the forums here.

Do not pay the fee to Pearson-Vue until you are ready to set up your appt for the exam.

Would suggest that you take the time to do some reading here on this forum concerning the reasons why we never recommend CA for initial licensure if you do not already hold a US SSN#. They are not going to issue a license to you without it and you will not be considered a US RN until a license number is issued. Much can be found here concerning licensure in CA if a foreign nurse that does not have a SSN#.

Other issue is that if you do not already hold a tourist visa for the US, they will not issue one to you for the reason of writing the exam. I would test in Makati and get it done that way. Results are not usually received until about a month after testing as well.

Please take the time to do some reading on the International Forum concerning what is happening in terms of the retrogression as well.

i forgot to tell you that i passed the NLE. and ithink my req. for the licensure are sufficient! im also coming to the US using a K1 visa (fiance visa) and i think il have no problem regaring my SSN as well.
