Stars hope all the drivers license stuff can get taken care of soon

NJ22 I've watched Outlander The Crown and Call The Midwife too

Hi Tweety

Work was busier than expected yesterday, got a new case and had to work on the side project. Thankfully got all of that done in the morning, though by the afternoon a lot of documents came in to review, which I got done before I left

After work was going to take my car to get emissions tested, but the rush hour traffic caused me to to change plans. Instead ran an errand and exercised

Today nothing unusual at work except the side project again, and nothing unusual after work except exercise. Might get a few last things before I get the cat

Going to be warmer today, up to the low 80s, no rain expected

92 degrees, humidity 83%, feels like 103 degrees, Thunderstorms at 12 noon, 2 PM, and 6 PM.

Today I am on-line reaching out to all the City Clerk and Vital Records depts from which I require certified records. I have to go out to a UPS or FEDEX or the library (after I find out where any of the closest ones are!) to get someone to help me fax copies of my driver's license, and I will have to pay them through my debit card, which may require another form they will have to send me in order to accomplish that. Guess I should send another email to find out how to do that so the copies of my NC DL and the payments info are not out there floating around separate from each other. This all feels like someone is pulling a too small hat onto my head by great force. Torture. I know computers are supposed to make our lives easier, but I take great exception to that saying, so I guess I am officially Old School and an Old Dog who does NOT want to learn new 'tricks'.

So if anyone wants to get in touch with me I will be sitting here on my bed in my still messy, unpacked room, silently, mentally SCREAMING with frustration, while simultaneously deleting multiple potential scam calls from my foo little overused cell phone.

Bah, humbug!

Yikes, Stars, don't give them any ideas (urine sample, DNA swab, etc.) -- before you know it, it will be required!

The uneven A/C continues to haunt both hospital and home. I covered M/S for a couple of hours yesterday until night shift came in. The patient, who has COPD, was in a room that we measured at 81 degrees. That was with a portable A/C unit and a large fan in the room. Meanwhile, my office is currently 70.1 and I am wearing a sweater.

Kudos to your ds for tackling the room and gaming area, J22! Wish that would happen around my house.

I tried a new treat recipe last night that used bittersweet choc chips, unsweetened coconut, and pecans. They are tasty but at 8g carbs per serving must be limited. My employer is providing pizza today for employee appreciation. Maybe I will just scrape off the toppings and eat that, not the crust. ☹️

It has occurred to me (DUH!) that I don't have to find an insurance company to insure my car here in Florida, I can just contact my current insurer and have them switch it to Florida and then send me a paper copy confirming it. (because I can't print anything off my laptop) Don't know why I didn't realize that sooner. Tomorrow I will request and pay for my birth certificate on line. And since I am trying not to think of anything more about it today, I will have to get the checklist out tomorrow to see what else I have to do. And when I finally get a "New Florida Resident" appt to go get my license, I'm not going to give a ____what I look like, my hair is all to ___ because of the humidity, and anyway whose DL photo EVER looks any good? Even when I had a company name tag with photo made for my dog Moosie on Asheville, it wasn't a good photo of him at all! And he was always cute in real life!

Next thing I want to do is get more of those big, covered plastic bins and switch everything out of the dirty cardboard filing boxes and booze boxes, and then at least the collection can be stacked neatly and won't look so horrible. I have been very slothful because of my attitude(s) lately. My friends are going to go to Atlanta for a long weekend at the end of August, so maybe I can 'do' my room in peace and quiet.

I will be cat and dog sitting for them, but that shouldn't be a terrible time. I don't walk Tinker and Wolfie at the same time because they have different manners in their walk-taking, and their leashes always get horrifically tangled. Tinker always wants to dash and dart and chase the little lizards and tiny toads (or a squirrel or the cats!). Wolfie, who doesn't have a name that fits him at all, likes to wander and sniff and nibble grass. He likes to lounge on the sofa or bed, and has to be lifted up and down. When on-the-loose in the house, Tinker races around searching for the cats, who fortunately can get up on things to stay away from him. I honestly don't understand why Cornelia doesn't just slap him a good one on the snout. And Harley is a snooty Siamese (but quite regal looking) who doesn't really care about anything but food; she isn't much or a cuddler, and doesn't care about being held and scratched or rubbed at all. And the cats, when they are let out, can either stay on the lanai or go through the cat door into the outdoors; they don't ever wander far.

Welp, I had some of J's leftover shrimp parmesan from yesterday, which she offered to share with me, for supper. It was good, and I didn't have to buy it. But I do still plan on not doing so much take-out as my friends so frequently do. Apparently S. has a good income, because he lets J get whatever she wants to get; there are daily packages delivered here from FedEx and Prime; it is unbelievable. I told her not to order any more bananas online because she gets a large bunch and then they go bad. I told her that since I go out about every other day I can pick up a few (2-4) and I will eat a few of them, and if she doesn't, well, it won't matter if they go bad; otherwise she is just wasting their money. Same with breads and rolls, etc.

I will probably weed out old stuff from their fridge soon. Tomorrow is trash pickup day and the large barrel is already crammed full 2-3 days after pickup, and the HOA doesn't allow the bins to have overflow; the lids must fit over what is in the bin! I told S he needs to get a second barrel from the waste company and I am willing to share the cost; it will be better not to have a bunch of full trash bags sitting around the house, waiting around for another week to fill the barrel again. I make my share of trash also. I'm not such a neatnik, myself, but if they are getting pickups at the curb, it would make more sense to have it all taken away on the same day. There are also the same four large boxes that have been delivered out by the front door, I don't know what's in them, but they sit there through all kinds of weather, and could probably be put in the garage, except J will have to have her nieces clean out the garage of all the stuff in there, that could be thrown away, and then have Salvation Army come and get the 2-3-4 sofas out there. This is a big house with many rooms, but the rooms are also filled with boxes of things and extra furniture they don't even use, or stuff that J wants to save for some reason. They aren't as bad as my sister, but she lives in a very old mobile home and has less space than they do. No doubt she could fill a house of this size with no problem, but my gosh, there is hardly anywhere to put anything!

Oh well, not my problem, but.... 😱 I mean YIKES !!

Time to get back into the show I am streaming, SHETLAND.

Good evening.

It's amazing how much "stuff" accumulates.

Stars, the general election deadline to vote in Florida is October 5th. Plenty of time, but just saying.

Ado, hope they can get the air conditioning fixed soon. Isn't that a newish facility?

Being single no kids, it is best for me to go through the trouble of being detailed as to what my wishes are and who is executor. If I were to go today my 92 father would be my next of kin. Otherwise I wouldn't bother, after all I'd be dead, and let my spouse or kids deal with it.

Off tomorrow and will pre-pay for my cremation. Next week I have my will made, etc. Will be glad to have that off my mind.

Yes, Tweety, we moved into this building on my 60th birthday (November 2022). I guess since it was a city project and had to go through a bidding process and low bidder usually wins, we get to deal with the lack of... um ... ruggedness of the A/C systems. Every Summer when it finally gets "Oklahoma hot" instead of normal hot, it seems we go through this. Current estimates for the arrival of the second critical part look like Monday.
